00:00Two beautiful pandas are now in the United States, getting acclimated to their new home
00:07in Southern California.
00:09The San Diego Zoo announced that their arrival serves as part of a conservation effort of
00:13the iconic species.
00:15Our correspondent, Leonardo Feldman, has that story.
00:18Two giant pandas, Chuan Chuan and Chin Bao, have arrived safely in Southern California.
00:24The pair are currently at a private habitat at the San Diego Zoo, where they're expected
00:28to get acclimated for the next several weeks.
00:31According to the Zoo's Wildlife Alliance, they're being monitored closely by expert
00:35wildlife health and care teams, who will determine when the pair are ready to meet the public.
00:41Chuan is a 5-year-old male, while Bao is a 4-year-old female.
00:45And this is definitely not the first time the Zoo has cared for these beautiful animals.
00:50For over 30 years, San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance has worked alongside our Chinese
00:55conservation partners to save, protect, and care for giant pandas.
00:59Prior to the arrival of the two pandas in California, Paul Baribolt, the Wildlife Alliance
01:04president, stated that the long-standing partnership with China Wildlife Conservation Association
01:10has been instrumental in advancing giant panda conservation, and that they look forward to
01:15continuing the work together to ensure the survival and thriving of this iconic species.
