03:43The question is, is online divorce also permissible?
03:46Responding to this question, Dr. Zakir Naik explained the whole method of divorce.
03:50And said that the husband and wife say divorce, divorce, divorce once a year.
03:54But this method is not proven by the Quran and Hadith.
03:56And the second method is that after a divorce, you have to wait for a month.
04:01Then you have to wait for another divorce and another month.
04:04And then there is a third divorce.
04:06This divorce is better.
04:07And this method is proven by the Quran and Hadith.
04:09It was told in Surah Baqarah.
04:11It is that whenever there is a problem between a husband and wife,
04:14they should try to solve it.
04:16Marriage should not be broken on any small issue.
04:19Rather, the issue should be broken.
04:21If the problem is not solved, then the method was told in Surah Nisa.
04:24It is that if you are in danger of spoiling the relationship between husband and wife,
04:28then appoint a just person from the family of a man and a just person from the family of a woman.
04:34And if both of them want to reconcile, then Allah will make them reconcile.
04:39Allah knows everything.
04:41It is important that whenever a divorce is given, there should be two witnesses.
04:44After divorce, the period of three months begins.
04:47In this period, the husband and wife can live under one roof.
04:50But they cannot have any relationship with each other.
04:52During this period, if both of them feel that they made a mistake,
04:55then they can reconcile again.
04:57If this does not happen during the period of three months, then they should separate.
05:01Divorce, divorce, divorce and the divorce takes place.
05:04This is called as Talaq-e-Bidah.
05:07It is not proven from Qur'an and Sahih Hadith.
05:10The other type of divorce which is prevalent in the society, in the Muslim society,
05:14is that the husband gives divorce, waits for one menstrual cycle,
05:19again repeats the divorce, waits for one menstrual cycle, then again give a divorce.
05:25This is called as Talaq-e-Hasan. That's a good Talaq.
05:28But the right Talaq is Talaq-e-Ahsan, the best type of Talaq,
05:32as is described in the Qur'an and the Sahih Hadith.
05:35And there are various verses in the Qur'an dealing with Talaq.
05:39It's mentioned in Surah Talaq, Chapter 65, Verses 2-7.
05:43It's given in Surah Baqarah, Chapter 2, Verses 228-242, the details of Talaq.
05:48Normally, whenever any disagreement takes place between the husband and wife,
05:54they should initially try and sort it out themselves.
05:58You know, suppose, you know, the wife put extra salt in the food,
06:03and the husband does not like it, he shouldn't say Talaq, Talaq, Talaq.
06:07If he doesn't like extra salt, he should tell the wife,
06:09don't put extra salt, and the problem is solved.
06:11The best is to have a sitting, sort it out, that's the best.
06:16If the problem between them cannot be sorted out,
06:19then the Qur'an says in Surah Nisa, Chapter 4, Verse 35,
06:24that appoint an arbiter from the husband's side,
06:28and appoint an arbiter from the wife's side.
06:30Let there be a family gathering, have an arbiter from the husband's side,
06:33and an arbiter from the wife's side sit together,
06:35and try and explain, you know, always marriage is a delicate issue,
06:40and there are ups and downs in married life.
06:43They should sort it out, and try and find a solution.
06:47Yet, if all the things have been tried, the husband and wife have got together,
06:51they have had a family gathering, they have appointed an arbiter,
06:54and yet the matter is not solved, then as a last resort,
06:58then divorce can be pronounced.
07:01While pronouncing a divorce, it is important that the husband,
07:07when he pronounces the divorce, says Talaq, there should be two witnesses.
07:10And once he says Talaq, as the Qur'an says in Surah Baqarah,
07:14Chapter 2, Verse 228, that after the divorce is given,
07:19there should be a period of three menstrual cycles.
