Today we are going to be talking about the future of farming, so if like me, during Adam
00:06
Spence's talk yesterday, you're a bit overawed with all the different tools that are there,
00:09
all the different ways we can use AI, all the different stuff that's going on, then
00:14
you've come to the right session. Because we will be talking about, I guess, ways that
00:18
that is being put into practice. So some really practical ways that people are using AI to
00:24
develop new innovation for the cotton industry, to bring us new ideas, to deal with challenges.
00:28
So I hope, like me, you're going to learn a lot.
00:30
And I'll do that by touching on three areas that we're working on that are all at different
00:34
levels of maturity. The most mature one is around better resistance to wildlife. The
00:40
second one is around better establishment and growth rates. And the third one is about
00:45
better resistance to common world diseases.
00:47
So to understand that problem to be solved helps us shore these irrigation systems that
00:54
we want to look at, and unpack what we've shown, unpack that through the session. The
01:01
second one is the topography, you know, what is the landscape, soil type, slopes.
01:08
Basically hijacking their instincts by mimicking the source of the nectar. So when they emerge
01:14
out of pupation, they're looking for two things. They're looking for a food source, and they're
01:19
looking to reproduce. So this tool was actually called Magna.
