00:00Snoop's Olympic enthusiasm is contagious.
00:03Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the funniest and most meme-able moments from the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
00:11She goes, you're number 5 trending on Twitter, and I was like, you're kidding me.
00:21The heroes of the Olympics are not always the athletes who leave decorated with multiple medals.
00:26But we shouldn't forget about the people behind the scenes, making sure that everything goes smoothly here in Paris.
00:31Sometimes, it's those who are on our screens for a moment, but in our hearts for much longer.
00:37Case in point, Bob the Cap Catcher, the nickname bestowed upon the man who retrieved Team USA's Emma Weber swim cap from the bottom of the pool,
00:45following the women's 100-meter breaststroke preliminary race.
00:49More proof than not, all heroes wear capes, some do wear Speedos.
00:53As soon as he appeared with his scintillating swimwear, the audience, both at the event and at home, were enamored.
01:00We don't know if his name is actually Bob, but we do know that he and his Speedo have brought us utter joy.
01:17We hesitate to find amusement in an athlete's dreams of Olympic glory being dashed.
01:22But we cite this incident out of love, not mockery.
01:32While competing in a qualifying event, French pole vaulter Anthony Amerazzi's nether regions hit the bar he was going over,
01:39knocking it down and him out of the competition.
01:42While being well-endowed is often considered a blessing, in Amerazzi's case, it was something of a curse.
01:49He was understandably crushed by the outcome.
01:52According to his elimination in a statement posted by the French Athletics Federation, saying,
02:04However, many have expressed their support and admiration for Amerazzi.
02:09With any luck, he'll be clearing bars again with style in no time.
02:13The 2024 Paris Games mark Anthony's first time making it to the Olympics,
02:18and it's sure to be a competition he'll remember for a very long time.
02:26Even if you have no interest in sports, the Olympics opening ceremony is always a must-see spectacle.
02:32My friends, I'm watching the Olympics last night, and I go and do something and I come back,
02:37and he's like, oh, you missed the heavy metal performance.
02:39I was like, the heavy metal performance? I didn't think anything up.
02:42This year was no exception, taking us down the Seine and showcasing numerous wondrous French landmarks from Notre Dame to the Eiffel Tower,
02:50as well as the country's long-standing reputation for spectacular pageantry.
02:54But the most memorable moment occurred during the French Revolution-inspired third sequence.
02:59Entitled Liberté, it featured the beheaded Queen Marie Antoinette, played by soprano Marina Viotti,
03:06singing the opening lines of Ah! Ça ira! before being joined by French metal band Gojira.
03:11Everyone was like super enthusiastic and crazy about it, so I thought like, okay, we did it!
03:18If you're someone who loves French history and heavy metal in equal measure, this was the opening ceremony for you.
03:25Nothing comes to mind that compares to this. That was so unbelievably awesome.
03:36The Olympics have been around a very long time, but that doesn't mean they're afraid of trying new, exciting events.
03:42For example, the introduction of kayak cross, a sport that has to be seen to be believed.
03:48Imagine being dropped off a 20-foot ramp while you're sitting in a kayak,
03:53then racing through raging rapids with three competitors all allowed to push and shove you with their paddles.
03:59It starts with competitors being dropped in the rapid waters from 15 feet high and only gets more exciting from there.
04:05Everyone drops off at the same time and then battles each other down the course to get to the bottom first.
04:10With all sorts of obstacles in the water, it's the kind of event that can trip up even the most coordinated.
04:15And it caused a splash on social media, with some comparing it to Mario Kart with boats.
04:21Speaking of, any chance Mario Kart will be an event at the 2028 Games?
04:36American rugby player Ilona Marr has had quite a time at this year's Olympics,
04:40helping her Rugby 7s team earn bronze medals, meeting legends like Jason Kelsey, Snoop Dogg and Tom Brady,
04:47and putting body shamers in their place.
04:59Her TikTok account is also just full of numerous hilarious videos.
05:03From showing shenanigans inside the Olympic Village housing units,
05:07to joking about a meet cute in the dining hall,
05:09to indulging in a massive croissant as a light snack,
05:13Marr proved herself to be an inspiration not only as an athlete, but also as a human being.
05:20Do you know the Muffin Man?
05:22The Muffin Man?
05:23The Muffin Man!
05:24No, not the nursery rhyme character.
05:26We're talking about Norwegian swimmer Henrik Kristiansen.
05:29The Scandinavian athlete's adoration for the chocolate muffins served at the Olympic Village's dining hall
05:34made him a TikTok star, and earned him a delicious croissant.
05:38He's also known as the Muffin Man,
05:40because he's the only person in the world who can eat a chocolate muffin.
05:44The chocolate muffins served at the Olympic Village's dining hall made him a TikTok star,
05:48and earned him a delicious nickname.
05:50Henrik is winning hearts around the globe with his funny and relatable content throughout the games,
05:55giving fans a peek at his ongoing love for the yummy treats.
05:59According to others who have tried these baked goods,
06:01they really are as good as he claims.
06:03And though we believe him, we also wish we could try them for ourselves.
06:08Kristiansen isn't the only athlete to go viral for their food love this year.
06:12Canadian gymnast Georgia Villa has also made waves with her epic cheese photos.
06:34American swimmer Katie Ledecky made history at this year's Games,
06:38becoming the most decorated female swimmer,
06:40as well as the most decorated American woman in Olympic history.
06:55And watching her in action is an utter thrill.
06:58But you know what's even more exciting?
07:00Getting noticed by her.
07:06That's what happened to 8-year-old Madden Maddie Lowry,
07:09who was in attendance when Ledecky won gold in the 1500m freestyle final.
07:14After her victory, Ledecky waved at her young fan,
07:17who reacted with utter glee, even almost fainting.
07:21And the joy didn't stop there,
07:23as Lowry was later surprised by Ledecky on a video call.
07:30We cannot wait for when the two of them finally get to meet in person.
07:39It's a bird!
07:40It's a plane!
07:41It's an amazing athlete!
07:43American artistic gymnast Stephen Nederozic is a pommel horse specialist,
07:47who became a star at this year's Games.
07:53And key to that is his glasses,
07:56which he took off prior to his bronze medal winning performance.
07:59Naturally, comparisons were drawn between pommel horse guy
08:03and a certain superhero and his journalist alter ego.
08:09There is a striking resemblance to Clark Kent.
08:12We don't know if Nederozic has the ability to fly or use x-ray vision,
08:16but we do know that he became a hero to us and countless others
08:20thanks to his charisma and pommel horse prowess.
08:23My coach came up to me and said,
08:24Stephen, you don't get a flag, you get a cape.
08:27And it was legitimately a whole cape, it was awesome.
08:34During the 10m air pistol mixed team event,
08:37most of the competitors had the kind of visible protective gear you would expect.
08:40During the event, it is standard practice
08:43for competitors to wear the allowed eyewear
08:46and take advantage of any special equipment that is permitted.
08:49That is, except for one.
08:5151-year-old Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikic
08:54took the internet by storm with his decidedly laid-back approach to target shooting.
08:59Instead of bulky ear protection and a visor,
09:01Dikic went with small earplugs and everyday eyeglasses.
09:05What's more, he even had his other hand in his pocket,
09:08as if he was playing a carnival game
09:10rather than competing on the global stage with other target experts.
09:22It doesn't seem to have hindered him too much,
09:24as he brought home a silver medal for Turkey.
09:27But if you are an aspiring sports shooter, remember, safety first.
09:31When I saw how he was shooting, I thought in my head,
09:34that's so Turkish.
09:37Okay, the no ear protection, that's so Turkish.

09:58Number 1. Snoop Dogg reacts to Simone Biles
10:02If there's any undisputed non-athlete star of this year's Olympics,
10:06it's Snoop Dogg.
10:11The iconic artist served as NBC's ambassador of happiness,
10:15and he more than lived up to his title.
10:17We could probably fill out a whole list with great Snoop moments,
10:20from holding the torch, to swimming with Michael Phelps,
10:23to looking the part while watching dressage with his BFF Martha Stewart.
10:27Have you ever ridden a horse?
10:28No, I'm scared.
10:29But if we can only single out one moment,
10:32it would have to be his reaction to gymnastics great Simone Biles'
10:35incredible qualifying performance.
10:38It's a look that says he cannot believe his eyes,
10:41which to be fair, neither could we.
10:43We also can't forget about his adorable dance party with Biles
10:47and her teammate Jordan Shiles.
