00:00DAP Johor said that the party in the coalition government is unreasonable to openly demand any chairmanship,

00:08in response to the actions of Amanah demanding the mayoralty from UMNO.

00:12Its chairman Liu Qingtong said that a chairmanship request must go through a party-component hearing

00:18and will be determined by the highest leadership of the National Assembly and Parliament.

00:23According to Liu, DAP holds the principle of incumbency,

00:27i.e. an empty chair will be competed with the candidate party that won the previous election,

00:32such as PRK Pulai and Simpang Jeram.

00:36Earlier, Amanah's chairman, Zuhan Zain, in a media interview,

00:41urged the party to be given a chance to compete with PRK Dunmah Kota, which will be announced on 13 August.

00:49He said that he, along with Amanah, once won the Dunmah Kota chairmanship in PRU14

00:54and competed in PRN2022, but lost to BN candidate Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain.

01:02Dunmah Kota's chair was declared empty following the death of Sharifah Azizah last August due to internal bleeding.
