Johor Speaker notifies EC of Mahkota seat vacancy

Johor State Assembly Speaker Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi says he has submitted a notification of the vacant Mahkota state seat to the Election Commission (EC).  He said the notification was sent via fax on Sunday (Aug 4) morning following the death of its incumbent, Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain on Friday (Aug 2).
