00:00My heart hurts more than my tricep does, and when I come back, I'm coming right for you.
00:07I am going to make your life a living hell.
00:19Everything with Punk, Wrestlemania, and Scotland in front of my people.
00:23After winning Money in the Bank, Drew McIntyre, come get this beating that you deserve.
00:30He will have to stop that match, because I won't stop until your heart does.
00:38Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk is official for Summerslam.
00:42Despite no championship being on the line, it's not a stretch to say this is the most
00:46highly anticipated professional wrestling match this summer.
00:49This is despite the fact that we have a solid potential banger between Damian Priest and
00:53Gunther and an all-important WWE title clash between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sokoa.
00:59Yes, it's the Punk and McIntyre match that has garnered the most hype and deservedly so.
01:05We should mention that the feud started before both Priest and Cody became world champions,
01:09so on account of that alone, it's been a slow-burning build-up.
01:13But what's been even better is that CM Punk's injury has hardly stopped the feud from progressing.
01:19We'd even argue that it's made it a whole lot better, and now Seth Freakin' Rawlins
01:23has been added to the mix.
01:25We'll let you decide whether that's a good or bad thing, but WWE has to be careful
01:29not to ruin the feud with a bad match.
01:32Because the rivalry has taken off so spectacularly in 2024, it also has the highest risk of spectacularly
01:38failing if handled incorrectly.
01:40But hopefully WWE won't make this major mistake at Summerslam with Drew McIntyre.
01:45Stand back, there's a new wrestling quiz coming through.
01:49Check out Brain Buster, the daily quiz that tests your WWE knowledge with winning strengths,
01:55stats, and more.
01:56It's time to see if you're up for the challenge.
02:01The type of rivalry this is is unlikely to be over with just one match.
02:05There's far too much hatred for this to simply end with a match.
02:09Instead, Summerslam needs to be treated as a pivot to expand the story and give it a
02:13whole new element.
02:15If Drew McIntyre loses at Summerslam, he could be ruined.
02:19We know what you're probably thinking.
02:21It's CM Punk's first singles televised match in WWE in 10 and a half years.
02:26Why should he be the one to lose?
02:28The answer is simple, because it makes sense.
02:31WWE has already used the Money in the Bank briefcase as a way to further the fuel and
02:36hatred between Punk and McIntyre.
02:39Having CM Punk lose at Summerslam is a way to light him up like never before.
02:44We would even go as far as to argue that Drew McIntyre should downright squash CM Punk.
02:49But with Seth Rollins in charge of the match, that's unlikely to actually happen.
02:53What you don't want happening is Seth Rollins directly affecting the outcome.
02:57Yeah, there's usually a reason why special guest referees are special guest referees,
03:02but it would probably be best if WWE went with a more straightforward, less screwy kind
03:07of approach with Seth Rollins at Summerslam.
03:10Although Drew McIntyre is far from perfect and is far from undeserving for his recent
03:14shortcomings, he has a bigger chip on his shoulder than CM Punk does.
03:18CM Punk cost him the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, cost him a title shot the
03:23next night on Raw, cost him in his home country of Scotland, and then thwarted his Money in
03:28the Bank cash-in.
03:30McIntyre is a man on a mission and there's no other way Summerslam should go other than
03:34him getting a dominant victory over his rival.
03:37If he loses to CM Punk, it's going to feel like all the work they put into crafting this
03:41new persona has been a waste.
03:43But considering that almost no wrestler in the world has had character development like
03:47Drew McIntyre this year, he is far more deserving of a big win on a big stage like Summerslam.
03:53What on earth would be the point of him coming out of every single Premium Live event frustrated?
03:58That needs to change.
04:00What WWE also needs to avoid doing is simply ending the rivalry without a follow-up.
04:05For one, Drew McIntyre can walk out of Summerslam a euphoric man seemingly having closure on
04:10the CM Punk chapter.
04:12But when he least expects it, perhaps in another crucial moment down the line, Punk cost him
04:17again to let him know that things are far from over.
04:20This can set up a Premium Live event main event match for later this year, maybe even
04:24with high stakes.
04:26We wish we could see Punk and McIntyre duke it out in a Hell in a Cell, but Punk has publicly
04:31stated that he doesn't want to have a match of that intensity.
04:34Can you really blame the guy after all the injuries he's suffered?
04:37Either way, CM Punk cannot win if WWE wants Drew McIntyre to be the ultimate beneficiary
04:42of this feud.
04:44It's not even like Drew needs to win the feud outright to come off better.
04:47Assuming they do a trilogy that stretches the mania and CM Punk gets the last laugh,
04:52then Drew McIntyre can still walk out better if the story is told right.
04:56But the way the story is being told now, he simply can't afford to lose this match.
05:00He has been one of WWE's MVPs this year and needs to be treated as such.
05:05Who do you think should be the ultimate winner of this rivalry?

05:11As always, thank you for watching.
05:22Peace.
