00:00Hi there, this is Freya Blythe from the Bookshop by the Sea. I wanted to say a

00:03massive thank you for winning Independent Bookshop of the Year

00:08TikTok Book Awards 2024. It is such an honour, it's genuinely such a wonderful

00:14thing to be recognised for the hard work that we do in our community and I love

00:18that this is going to bring more tourists to our community in Aberystwyth

00:21and in Wales and hopefully benefit all of the other local businesses as well.

00:26We're doing a treasure trail that we announced yesterday on the day of

00:29announcing that we were winning that will take people all the way around

00:32local businesses and that'll be running all the way through the summer so

00:35hopefully some of that traffic that we've got from this award will also

00:40benefit the town as well. But it's just a genuine honour to see something that

00:44started off and is such a community-based project in Aberystwyth,

00:48such a community-based bookshop, to also have this worldwide community and this

00:54outreach on social media that people genuinely feel like they want to see

00:59the sunsets with us here in Aberystwyth and engage with our book club that we

01:03also have online and to have authors like Jasmine Donaghey that we have live

01:07in the bookshop in a couple of weeks time, we're also going to be doing that

01:11as a hybrid event online live on TikTok as well and so to see the people who

01:16are both able to engage in person and online is really exciting and something

01:20a little bit new, a little bit of a positive way to use social media and to

01:25reach people and inspire them to read more books. Thank you to everyone who
