Striking video game performers walk picket lines in protest of unregulated AI

The striking performers are protesting against what they call an unwillingness from top gaming companies to protect union voice actors and motion capture workers equally against the unregulated use of artificial intelligence.

00:00A lot of these companies, they don't understand the hard work and labor that goes into the

00:27voice acting, the face acting, the body capture, all of the likenesses that they use to sell

00:33these video games.

00:35It's us.

00:36We're doing that work and we're just asking to be paid commensurately for our labor.

00:41So this is mandatory.

00:46Like what we're doing right now, it's a multi-billion dollar industry where people are underpaid,

00:53not protected at all from AI, anything, and we want to make sure our members are taken

00:59care of, compensated, they're safe, they have health care and a pension when they retire.

01:04That's why they're in this union.
