00:00Do the Padres have a realistic shot of winning the division this year?

00:09Well I think after this series they do. I think after this series and I think after

00:13the stat that you just mentioned and these kind of days of the summer going into August

00:17that the Dodgers just had their first upside down month in six years. I mean and the Padres

00:25are playing, I think, would you say their best baseball of the season?

00:30Not even close.

00:31Their best stretch of baseball, right?

00:32Not even close.

00:33And so they're playing...

00:34Since the all-star break, what are they, 9-2?

00:36Yeah, and then even a little bit before that, you know, and they beat some good teams. They

00:40went into Cleveland, who you just mentioned, and even after our first game where they got

00:45beat up a little bit, boy they responded and darn near no hit us and then shut us down

00:52the day after that and took two or three and then I won a series against Baltimore

00:56as well, right?

00:57Right, swept the Nationals as well, no hit the Nationals.

01:00No hit the Nationals, swept the Dodgers. So yeah, realistically, of course, and now they're

01:07only five and a half back, although now the Diamondbacks are playing really good baseball

01:11too, so the National League West is kind of the boats are, you know, floating a little

01:20bit.

01:21Same with the American League Central, and that's the impressive thing about, you know,

01:24my tribe is that we've been able to hold up, I mean, Kansas City, Minnesota, I think we're

01:30going to be the only division with three teams to 60 wins at first.

01:35So, you know, so these small market teams with young talent, Cleveland and San Diego

01:41have a lot in common other than the weather, but they've got great ballparks, great young

01:44talent, a brand new manager, and a fan base starving for one, right?

01:51It's the longest droughts ever.

01:52We've had a little bit more post-season success in the last, you know, 20 some years than

01:58San Diego.

01:59We've been at the doorstep a few times, but boy, how fun would that be?

02:03How fun would just a couple of teams coming that nobody saw coming?

02:07Everybody had Dodgers, Yankees with those payrolls and those teams, you know, written

02:12into the World Series, but boy, that would be fun.
