I think the first thing is it's really important we don't pull behind, absolutely, so we need
00:09
to make sure we're keeping up with the nations around us and that we are leveraging this
00:15
new technology as well as being aware of positives and any potential issues that we should watch
00:24
out for.
00:25
One would hope as we go through this journey we will find our own niche, we will find our
00:30
USP to differentiate ourselves from everybody else and that's where hopefully we'll see
00:35
a new service, a new part of the economy spring up.
00:39
And it's really important the pace of change right now that we work with organisations
00:44
around the world that are up with that pace so we can learn from them and we can make
00:49
sure that we're in step with them, or not, as we decide.
00:56
Well, I mean, from my perspective, it's massively exciting because all of a sudden I've got
01:02
access to be able to do things that might have taken months or years in the past to
01:07
accelerate and do things much more quickly now, as well as things that literally I wouldn't
01:12
have been able to do just a couple of years ago.
01:16
If I'm looking to grow as a business, this is the tool that I'll be looking at to help
01:20
me on that journey, to knock down barriers, create opportunity, incentivise my staff
01:25
to stretch themselves and move into new areas, and ultimately make more money as a business.
01:30
Absolutely.
01:31
Yeah, I could echo the same, I mean, time and effort has collapsed over the last two
01:34
years specifically.
01:35
Obviously, AI has been around since the 50s, the concept is not new, but the collapse over
01:41
the last two years of what's possible means that businesses can re-evaluate what they
01:45
thought was possible five years ago and now say, actually, we may be able to do this now.
01:49
And that's really important.
01:54
So I think really the focus of the Roadshow is just to let people know what we're doing,
01:59
really break it down for them into the sort of why we're doing it, what's going to happen,
02:03
what they can expect and how they can get involved.
02:06
That's essentially it.
02:08
Yeah, I echo the same.
02:10
With a trusted environment that you can have this conversation with government and local
02:15
businesses.
02:20
Yeah, I mean, Digital Island Management's primary focus is to partner with industry
02:25
and not to do everything ourselves.
02:27
And this is such a huge change for the island.
02:30
It has to be a partnership.
02:32
As an island, we all need to go on this journey together.
02:35
Now, everyone will have a different focus, but we have a real opportunity to move forward.
02:39
And if we move forward together and learn from each other, that's really where we're
02:43
going to get success.
02:44
This isn't something that we as a government need to try to control.
02:48
We just need to try to be the catalyst and to create that right environment for people
02:52
to adopt it.
02:53
Where do you go today to learn about AI?
02:56
Where?
02:57
On the internet.
02:58
Okay, but where do you go to meet people, real humans, and have that conversation?
03:02
And that's what we're looking to encourage, is encouraging businesses to get together
03:06
and have that conversation, activate, activate partners, activate the businesses, activate
03:11
citizens.
03:12
So it's where do you go?
