The Paris Olympics begin today after a stunning opening ceremony on Friday night.Sports correspondent Matt Majendie talks us through key moments of the opening ceremony and day one of the Paris Olympics.

It was an utterly miserable evening to kick off Paris 2024 last night with the opening ceremony.

Very, very heavy rain when conditions had been pretty good leading up to it.

And that sort of continued through the night and into the morning.

Very wet, not quite as heavy, but not the cheeriest of days.

But weather does improve from tomorrow.

From a Team GB perspective, it's about who's going to win the first medal for the team.

First opportunity is at the Diving where Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Moo-Jensen are going in the 3m Synchro competition.

I think they're ranked 4th in the world. They've got a pretty good chance of a medal.

And then later it's Josh Tarling going in the Individual Cycling Time Trial.

Now he's 3rd at the World Championships.

Probably one of three realistic riders to win, maybe just outside of the top two.

So it'll be interesting to see how he goes, particularly in the wet weather.

You know, there'll be a few people slipping off their bikes.

And then into the evening, big one is Swimming.

Adam Peaty, one of the established names of the team, going in the 100m breaststroke.

Heaps and semi-finals today.

Going for a hat-trick of titles in that, and that final will be tomorrow.
