00:08I rise today to urge my colleagues to defeat the previous question and support the American
00:14Dream and Promise Act.
00:16Well, here we are again, wasting our time on yet another border resolution that does
00:22nothing, nada, to secure our border, reform our broken immigration system, or provide
00:30relief to the undocumented community.
00:33This time, however, it's a little different twist because they are targeting Vice President
00:37Kamala Harris for political gain.
00:40There are spewing lies that she is Biden's border czar.
00:48Trust me, if she had been given that position, it would be border czarina.
00:55Because this is all a lie.
00:58It is false, period.
01:01She was tasked with leading diplomatic efforts in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador to
01:07reduce migration from those countries.
01:11That's what she was tasked to do.
01:13Vice President Harris secured billions in private sector investments to promote democracy
01:19and economic opportunity in those countries.
01:22And we've seen huge improvements.
01:25The numbers don't lie.
01:27In 2023, migrants from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador only made 22% of all border
01:36crossings down from 41% in 2021.
01:42Huge improvement.
01:44But Republicans don't care about facts.
01:47They'd rather make up lies and get ready for the campaign rhetoric.
01:51They want to spew lies, plain and simple, for political gain.
01:56The reality is that they were serious about border security and fixing our immigration
02:01system.
02:02Well, here's an idea that would work with Democrats.
02:06We have several solutions that we've put forward, including my bill, the American Dream and
02:12Promise Act, which would finally provide DREAMers, TPS recipients—
02:17I yield an additional one minute to the General Lady.

02:21It would provide DREAMers, TPS recipients, and DED beneficiaries with a pathway to citizenship.
02:29Not only is my bill bipartisan and popular with my colleagues, 207 of whom are co-sponsors,
02:38but it's popular with the American people.
02:41Poll after poll shows that upwards of 70%, 70%, Mr. Speaker, of Americans support permanent
02:48solutions for DREAMers because Americans support DREAMers and DREAMers support America.
02:56And they know that their home is here.
02:58They rose to the challenge during the pandemic and served as doctors and nurses and teachers.
03:03They serve in our military and protect our communities as law enforcement officers and
03:08firefighters.
03:09The American Dream and Promise Act is a real common-sense solution and not a rhetoric bill.
03:16Not a MAGA waste of time.
03:19Enough of this bandejada, BS garbage.
03:22Let's move forward.
03:23I urge my colleagues to defeat the previous question and instead support the American
03:29Dream and Promise Act, a real solution to provide relief to many people supported by
03:37Americans.
