00:00in the dock and again a hard-working man a man of the people but a man with a
00:07dream and a man with a vision and he believes that the Spanish scene is on
00:11fire right now and he feels like he can step up and really show the skills that
00:17Spain are renowned for in particular the island he fights from right Luke you
00:21talked about the camp he comes from the skill set he's got the level that they
00:25bring in jiu-jitsu in grappling in particular and that is what he's going
00:29to look to showcase and utilize today against the German Mokra Vinsky yeah
00:34let's have a Spaniel Alicante in Alicante in Las Palmas they do an
00:40extremely good job at grappling but not just on the ground but getting it to the
00:45mat they're extremely famous for it across mixed martial arts in Spain at
00:49the amateur ranks you know if you're fighting a guy from Las Palmas you're
00:52going to be dealing with cage wrestling takedowns pressure forward pressure
00:57and that comes you know from the history that this man provides in his career if
01:02you look through his career long career that he's had he's famous for doing that
01:06putting people on the back foot getting up against the fence and getting to the
01:09ground and dismantling them once they get there it's been a while for him
01:13since he's got a victory fire submission but he's just got that endless pressure
01:18and that forward pressure that can really put people off and it's the
01:21perfect game plan for someone like Gravinsky so this is really a tailor-made
01:26match for him if he can get past the hands and the striking that Gravinsky
01:30holds I feel like if Duque can get this down to the mat it will be an extremely
01:35successful night for him if he cannot it'll be an extremely painful one.
01:40There we have the debutante Duque inside the cage that's welcome once again
01:47Mo Gravinsky
01:57Mo Gravinsky's first journey into the tournament almost a year to the day came
02:05as he was a reserve fighter that stepped in for John Hathaway, Hathaway had to
02:09step out of the tournament Gravinsky took his opportunity and I say took it
02:13with both hands but took it with one hand as he handed the first ever finish
02:16the KO finish against Matei Kertesz and that announced him look right here it
02:21was somebody that many people weren't even eyeing as a potential problem but
02:26what we saw then and what we saw throughout that season was this guy
02:30really is a phenomenal fighter but he proved that in a division which he says
02:34isn't his I am a lightweight that's the where I belong so when they said they're
02:37doing it again he put his hand up and he was welcomed back into the tournament
02:41and for me this is exciting because he made the way he looks incredible most of
02:46his success most of the titles he has held have been at lightweight and he
02:50feels like this this is the season where he gets to truly show what he
02:54really is all about. And then talking about styles again the style of Kertesz
02:58is extremely similar to Duque and what he did to him the way he dismantled him
03:04on feet and timed the knees and that right hand eventually so well he looked
03:09in the flow state in that fight he looked phenomenal in that opening bout
03:14and I really really did them back him for the entire tournament I feel like if
03:18he can repeat that here against Duque it's gonna be an incredible night for
03:22him but if he doesn't and he gets they're both very very heavy both of
03:26four worlds away Duque cuts a hell of a lot of weight especially for a Spaniard
03:30you don't expect that from the nation of Spain he he's big he's heavy and he's
03:34strong and if he gets on top of you he is a nightmare and if Grubinski needs to
03:39fight against that all costs he needs to move his feet he needs to be smooth like
03:44he was in that fight against Kertesz and if he can be and he can read the
03:47takedowns well I think it's gonna be a fantastic night for him I'm really
03:50intrigued for this fight Brian these two styles both both of great finishing
03:55ability both putting on display and it's great to see Spain in the Octagon cage
04:00obviously seeing Ilya Topora what he's been doing great for that nation and
04:05we'll hand it over now to mr. Andre Novotny well we just check the tail of
04:10the tape quickly 32 versus 37 experience very much between both these
04:18guys what a fight this is the tips for odds favoring Mo Grubinski now let's
04:23hold it to Andre Novotny ladies and gentlemen our next bar is scheduled for
04:27three five-minute rounds lightweight bout and the referee in charge is Jan
04:31Woburnik let me introduce you both fighters and we will start in a blue
04:36corner 37 years old 180 centimeter tall weight in a 70.8 kilos represent Gil
04:43Cattarino KS1 ring gym and Jim Puerto and team formento coaches in his corner
04:50are Christian Perez, Tanauso Ruiz and Gil Cattarino he has a professional record
04:57of 23 fights 19 wins 14 finishes and 4 losses fighting out of Spain a Akoidan Duke
05:16in the red corner 32 years old 184 centimeter tall weight in a 70.6 kilo
05:24UFD gym and NFT gym coaches in his corner are Alex Kisler and Mimou Arbaoui he has
05:32a professional record of 32 fights 23 wins 17 finishes and 9 losses
05:39representing Nerura Cup team HB group and fighting out of Germany Marcel
05:47Mohamed Mogravinsky
05:59guys you know this rules as well go hard but always fair if you want to touch
06:04glass do that and step back to your corner best of luck for both of you
06:09set and ready we are now for the second of our tip sport game changer season two
06:14fights the opening round here we'll see Duque from Spain take on Mogravinsky
06:21Mogravinsky the only fighter to have appeared in both seasons and believes
06:26this is his weight class this is his year but Duque looking to make dreams
06:29come true a man of the people a working man works the docks in Las Palmas in
06:33Gran Canaria this is what he's about right Luke beautiful sweep both smooth
06:40from the start opened up very very well did Gravinsky on the feet very very
06:44active very light touching throwing that jab out there but then Duque ended
06:48beautifully with that classic overhand right double leg
06:52Gravinsky dealt with it well though that's good to see as well that was the
06:56question I thought if Duque got on top be a lot of trouble but Gravinsky active
07:00on the ground to get back to the feet for this one
07:03Gravinsky talked to me said I know what style he's gonna bring I know this is
07:07the game that Duque will play so he's been working a lot with a Luta Livre
07:12black belt and champion in Germany he says that you know it's not standard BJJ
07:16it's much more fitting for mixed martial arts but right now Duque being able to
07:22get him to the mat twice yes Gravinsky got up the first time but this is a much
07:25stronger position right they're managing to get up well with that sweep but
07:29Duque somehow converted that single leg I'm not quite sure how he did it shelves
07:34those legs as Mo does the right things and gets for the cage and stands back
07:37to his feet very encouraging for him twice doing that and obviously size has
07:41been a bigger discussion with this fight as Mo Gravinsky dropping down from
07:46what away last season as Duque also find a well way as one is extremely powerful
07:50extremely strong so I feel like Mo is the bigger of the two definitely in
07:55height but power at the moment especially in the grappling realms Duque
08:00just put a lot of pressure shucks him down does well great reactive wrestling
08:03from Gravinsky okay staying connected though this is what he does this way
08:10does he does extremely effectively and extremely well up against that fence
08:13like I said the last Las Palmas guys they are very very good at chaining the
08:18wrestling together going single leg body double leg switching ankle pick trying
08:22and then you see the little movements that he's doing punching between the two
08:26now trying to get to this body lock thoughts off though does Gravinsky but
08:32Gravinsky can't he could just be negative here he's losing the fight on
08:35the back foot and you know he needs to create some distance needs to get his
08:40hips out very difficult against Duque and you talked about last year that the
08:45styles against Kertesh one of the things he did so well with the frames right in
08:48this there we go looking for it now yeah the frames last time was more fantastic
08:52but I think Duque has a very very good understanding spent his whole career
08:56here of those small little adjustments even there it's great how he shucked him
09:00down off that body lock and again doesn't matter if we up against the
09:03fence this is the game the Duque wants to play he wants to play continuously
09:07and another thing we know about Duque we've heard about Duque is he's
09:11deceptively strong right might not look like the most athletically built he is a
09:15phenomenal specimen but when people feel his grip and you know this is his game
09:20they struggle with the power that he provides in these positions and you can
09:24see that already from Gravinsky even though coming down from the world weight
09:26division he's struggling with the sheer strength and size he needs space
09:32Gravinsky needs to move but Duque does does a great job of connecting well
09:36there's that little frame up to an elbow but this is what Kertesh was good at
09:42Kertesh never managed to get him to the fence Duque's done a great job of
09:45getting him there early you can see Gravinsky fighting really hard to make
09:49space but Duque gives none extremely effective effective at what he does
09:54looking to run this pipe now single leg, beautiful work if you can block that head and pin him down
10:01nice knee to the body kick as well that's great from Mo now unleashing the
10:06hands big knee oh here he comes Mo Gravinsky and that's what he needs to do
10:11because some nice switch again same defense off that single sometimes you
10:15find when you preparing for a wrestler and you know he's gonna try and take you
10:19down you you train wrestling you train Luta Libre you train all these things
10:23but you forget your bread and butter which is the striking so I'm happy that
10:27he's unleashing on the feet when he has the opportunity to moves into the last
10:30minute now. Duque's gotta be careful dipping that head already you saw a
10:35little fight for the uppercut from Gravinsky there. All that knee that he
10:39froze very very well as well and remember damage is the most important
10:43thing so the judges are gonna be looking for damage and wrestling up against the
10:47fence is not damage so it doesn't matter how much control Duque has here he's not
10:52causing damage and when they separated Mo Gravinsky did. Still Duque though able to
10:58make that connection. With ease as well yeah with ease frustrating a little bit
11:02and tries to shuck him down maybe gonna come out the outside now with a judo
11:05great awareness there to find the fencer though again though Gravinsky getting
11:11tested here good balance. Making him work hard though we saw in that Apollo fight
11:16with Gravinsky it was round three where Apollo had taken the fight out of
11:19Gravinsky basically right with the you know the pushing style pushing the pace
11:23on the feet and then in the grappling. Yeah that was a size and that it's a
11:29different size a different time I think for Gravinsky to get down to this weight
11:33that he's had to as well needs to be in phenomenal shape cardiovascularly so be
11:38interesting to see especially when it comes to the age as well Duque I believe
11:4237 years years young so gonna be facing that in the in the later rounds great
11:47first round opening round exactly what we expected feel like Gravinsky did a
11:51phenomenal job of getting back to his feet and I'm impressed that he managed
11:55to get off with the strikes the way he did. Surprised me though that Duque found
11:59it so easy to connect to him especially when you go back and you watch that
12:03Kertesz fight. Here we see some of the highlights this was the earlier on
12:06double leg converted very very easily and very well this switch changed the
12:10dynamic of the entire fight. Used to be one of my favorite techniques up against
12:15the fence the old switch but long arms. And he used it twice as well which obviously means
12:20he's been drilling that and there we go look at that again mixed scorecards two
12:25for the blue corner one for the red there. And again that comes down to that
12:28damage to scoring the damage correctly which I believe one judge did there in
12:33the red corner the grappling don't feel like Duque did enough damage to
12:37really take that round but we see the scores and he is up. So there we go two
12:43for the blue corner Duque. How long we're gonna wait now until Duque attempts
12:47another takedown. Not long Luke not long. Grabinski now moving forward and is this
12:52what he needs to do be the instigator you know control pressure but controlling
12:56the range at the same time. I'd like to see Grabinski attached to the ground a
12:59little bit more he's a bit light on his feet I think he's worried about the
13:02takedown but can't get so much power in the shots there. Doesn't look too
13:05intimidating on the feet when he's kind of floating a little bit. Switches well
13:09there though. He doesn't want to be overzealous now because now he's gonna
13:14come. Duque's gonna look for this takedown. Connects that leg does well.
13:19Just dips that head and throws the overhands until he finds a way of
13:23connecting with one of those limbs right. Yeah it does does well to get in on this
13:26single. Surprised he allowed the you know to get into those back and forth walls on
13:33the feet as much as he did. Kind of just swinging towards the end of that but
13:37within a minute connects and gets him picked up against the fence. This is what
13:40Duque wants. We said about it in the commentary meeting it's this stylistic
13:44battle and it's turned into exactly that right. Grabinski trying to make it a
13:48striking bout. Duque with this pressure this cage pressure. I really didn't
13:54believe it'd be this easy for Duque to get him up against the fence. I thought
13:56Grabinski was elusive enough to escape like that which he's managed to do now
14:01but he seems so overzealous on landing this shot. He doesn't really think about
14:06overexerting, stepping over his punches and connecting. Seems extremely
14:10confident here. And Duque is dipping his head again. Strong left hand there from
14:17Grabinski now chasing his mate. He lands a good left hand of his own there does Duque.
14:21And there's that right hand double leg that he's so good at. Just connects well.
14:26Classic old-school MMA but that was the by far the most significant shot of the
14:32fight. That left hand that landed for Grabinski. Frustration though as he
14:36looks over to his corner again pinned up against this fence. Two minutes down
14:41and you've got to respect the commitment from Duque for this style right? Because
14:45he buries his head. He's very very very good at it though. You can't understand
14:51watching as an audience member how difficult this is. The pressure that he
14:56emits, the angles, the small little movements that he makes to try and wrap
15:00around the single or go to the body. Mo at the moment his hips very very square.
15:04Needs to be careful. But Duque hasn't really seemed to be able to get a
15:10takedown or if he does get a takedown if he can keep a takedown. So you know
15:15Grabinski at the moment it's kind of like just waiting now until he gets his
15:18opportunity to get back on the feet. And again damage is the most important thing.
15:22Scored the highest on the judges scorecards and that left hand was
15:26damaging. Well we've seen already in the judges scorecard they have been
15:30favoring it in the style of Duque as far as round number one. You talk about a
15:34fight that's similar to this Kincel versus Vamola right? You got Vamola
15:37pushing against the cage. Kincel causing damage from this position. Not as much
15:42damage being caused by Grabinski certainly in this spot. But a similar
15:46style of fight. And we might see that in our main event tonight as well with
15:49Kincel taken on by Wawrzyniak. But I think we'll definitely have some
15:53cage wrestling back and forth in that one. But at the moment Grabinski trying
15:58to get out the clutches of the Spaniard. And again it's just a vice-like grip
16:04right? He just hangs on so hard to make space. Yeah it has great hips as well.
16:10From this position with this wizard I would be looking to do a judo toss. But
16:13Duque is so good at reversing that. He almost kind of waits for it and then
16:17he'll take you the other way. So you need to be very very careful.
16:20Grabinski talking to Yanda Bonic the referee. Almost shucked him out there.
16:25Mistake from Duque. Releasing Grabinski into the center of the cage. And now
16:29oh that right hand lands. Interesting this from Grabinski. Almost converts it.
16:39You saw straightaway Duque trying to look for that Kimura grip. Then went for
16:43the switch. Maybe gonna come out to the back door here though. But Duque doing a
16:47good job here. Now this could be a mistake from Grabinski. He tried to make
16:51something different happen right? Tried to impose himself. Needs to pop his head
16:54out to go to there. He does. Goes to the back. Beautiful work. Wants to go all the
16:58way around now. Has got that left arm nice and deep. That was better from him
17:03now. Now he's on the back. 30 seconds remain. 35 seconds now in this second round.
17:08Like we said we know the scores in round number one. Two judges score it in the
17:12side. Duque won. For Grabinski. This has been a much better round for
17:16Grabinski. Especially now the fact that he's the aggressive one in the grappling.
17:20Manages to get him down to the ground there as well. And on this body lock.
17:24He's the offensive grappler at the moment. Jan Bobornik on top of the cage grabbing.
17:31From the Spaniard. You're not cheating. You're not trying.
17:36Nice little kick there. He could knee into the back of the hamstring. That would be very very painful as well.
17:41As that round comes to an end. I believe that'll bring us to the joint.
17:45We shall see. We shall see. And that's the great thing right? We find out.
17:50Look at the vascular build. You can see from that wake up of Grabinski.
17:56Again I feel like he's in phenomenal physical condition.
17:59But what an impressive as well performance from Duque right? This is definitely a level.
18:03This is a leap in levels for him as far as opponents and backgrounds and you know experience.
18:10And he's managing to get that connection. Like you said in round number two.
18:14Grabinski especially in that last one minute. That last 30 seconds able to impose himself a little more.
18:20I just feel like Grabinski's not giving that enough attention.
18:24You know not giving it enough respect for the game of Duque.
18:26I think he feels supremely confident. We see here in the judges. They've scored it now.
18:31Everyone gave that round to Grabinski.
18:33No they didn't. One judge gave it to Duque. The same one. Oh wow.
18:37No red corners Grabinski. Sorry brother.
18:39So everyone gave it to Grabinski. But one judge has given both rounds to Grabinski.
18:43So he technically is up. Yeah. But not really. It'd be a split draw.
18:46But it's going to be interesting to see this third round. It all rides on this one.
18:50And I feel like Grabinski's the momentum's in his corner.
18:54Duque needs to make something happen. Needs to convert one of these takedowns.
18:57And maybe early on in the round as well.
18:59Off we go round number three. The third and final round in the second.
19:03And again Grabinski not showing any respect to Duque's wrestling.
19:09Just walking him down and happy to strike.
19:11Duque connected with a nice one to himself there.
19:14Yeah and Duque may be opening up on the feet a little bit more now.
19:17Oh! That left hand lands. That was heavy. And again.
19:20Still plenty of pop in the Spaniards' punches.
19:24Yeah that was a beautiful change of dynamic from him.
19:27But now we go back to the original plan. I feel like he was winning on the feet there.
19:31If he'd have kept going. I feel like he rocked Grabinski with one of those left hands.
19:35Trying to convert that into a takedown.
19:38But now just allowing Grabinski to breathe in this position.
19:41But beautiful opener to this third round.
19:44Makes it an interesting first minute, right? And this is all to play for in round number three.
19:49Trying to pummel in that left arm. Here's Grabinski. Needs to get that frame.
19:54Does well to get his hips off the fence and circle out.
19:58He's coming up the middle. Wants to stay off this fence though.
20:02Just feel like he's not given enough respect to the awareness of the fence.
20:06He done that so well against Kurtis. You never saw him in these positions.
20:09Because he circled so well. In Duque he seems very, very happy to be there.
20:13Which is an interesting one for me. I really thought he would have been a lot more alert.
20:17And urgent. That's emergency.
20:19He would have had more urgency about staying off this fence.
20:21Seems very happy there. Has been put back on there multiple times each round.
20:26And manages to circle out well. But then doesn't evade it very well. Back in the center.
20:32Now stepping forward. Oh Duque once again getting that underhook and driving him to the fence.
20:37Again Grabinski happy to go back to the fence. No urgency to circle off.
20:46Maybe Duque doing something that's hard to read.
20:49Again sometimes it's that tangible thing. Only when you feel it and you experience it,
20:53do you understand the level of it, right?
20:55Exactly. It's very, very difficult to see. But I feel like...
20:58I know Grabinski is aware. And I've seen it in the Kurtis fight.
21:01I've seen it. He knows that strength.
21:03But he just doesn't seem to have it on the top of his mind in this fight.
21:07As they battle it back and forth up against the fence here.
21:09Has done well getting out multiple times now. Gets that frame with that arm.
21:12That has been the most important factor. And now circles out again.
21:15Once he gets that frame, he seems to generate some space.
21:19Oh Duque firing first.
21:22Oh that left hand lands again.
21:25Big breaths from Duque though now.
21:28Oh but managing to go into the fire there.
21:31Again, what a contest between these two. Both connecting.
21:35Grabinski putting the pressure up now.
21:40Yeah, really stalking his man down now. Looking like the aggressor.
21:43Good jab landed there though.
21:45I feel like this is a very tough job for the judges in this third round so far.
21:48Someone needs to make a statement here.
21:50And they've got two minutes to do it, Luke. Two minutes to potentially change their life.
21:54Again, the dock worker from the Canary Islands taking on Moe Grabinski.
22:00Grabinski, a full-time fighter.
22:03Again, Grabinski getting pushed up against his fence. Happy to be there.
22:07Duque almost looking a bit desperate to get in there.
22:11And the clock is ticking, right? Like you said, this is somebody's round for the taking.
22:16I feel like Duque's come out and tried to take it. He's got, again, a nice elbow.
22:20I feel like Grabinski needs to wake up a little bit and understand it's all in this round.
22:24As they go back and forth.
22:26Now he's going for the takedown again.
22:28He might get it.
22:31Big moment maybe for Grabinski, but look at the urgency.
22:35Straight away fighting the hands, trying to get back to his feet as Duque.
22:39Nice switch attempt.
22:41Turns him round. That's big.
22:43That's a big moment because if he'd got put flat there, maybe Grabinski could have stolen something.
22:47Final minute. This is where it really matters.
22:50Where it really counts.
22:52Everything on the line.
22:53Yeah, the biggest 60 seconds of their lives.
22:58I feel like it's going to be a very, very, very interesting, intriguing.
23:03Judges scorecards when they get called out.
23:06If we get that far, 40 seconds to remaining.
23:14Because, again, this round, in my opinion, is going to be a very close one.
23:19Because, again, this round, in my opinion, Duque has done the most damage so far.
23:23Early on in the round, if you remember those big shots that he landed, that left hook.
23:27So it's a different dynamic here.
23:29It's interesting to see Grabinski try and search for a takedown rather than land the shots of his own.
23:35Such a fascinating contest.
23:3720 seconds remain. Someone needs to make a statement.
23:42I feel like they're going to ride this out now in this position.
23:45They've given absolutely everything.
23:46Another grab of the cage there from Duque.
23:50Final seconds.
23:51This, our second opening fight here in the Tipsport Game Changers Season 2.
23:56Oh, I don't know who's got it.
23:58Very close third round.
24:00But the Spaniard, for me, came out with the fire early in that round
24:05and seemed to have the urgency to really get it.
24:09Grabinski, he almost took a step back and tried to get takedowns
24:13because he got caught with that big left hand that wobbled him.
24:17He kind of started playing Duque's game in that third round.
24:20Very interesting.
24:21But remember that one judge, he already had Grabinski up.
24:25So one judge has definitely scored it in Grabinski's favor.
24:28The other two were a draw.
24:29So we only need one of those to score that round to him.
24:32It's very, very interesting.
24:35We shall wait. We shall see in the Tipsport Game Changer.
24:39We will see who next steps forward into that quarter finals.
24:43Again, we're going to have a look back at some of the action.
24:46All of it laid on this round, Luke, the third and final round.
24:49But here we probably see the most important part.
24:51That left hand that landed.
24:52That left hand from that left hook.
24:54We see it again here, just misses.
24:58And again, elbow as they break away.
24:59That was great from Duque.
25:03But both very, very talented individuals.
25:05You see the stats here.
25:07Significant shots and takedowns in the favor of Duque, the Spaniard.

25:34There is one man who knows the result and he is in the cage already.
25:43So we will find out.
25:45Intriguing to see Grabinski getting his second shot.
25:50He wants that jersey though.
25:52Straight away, but getting his second shot here in the Tipsport Game Changer.

28:53You continue to fly the flag.

29:08Akoidan, it has been an incredible month for the Spanish mixed martial arts.
29:15You continue to fly the Spanish flag.
29:20It has been an incredible victory.
29:23Your story is incredible.
29:26You are a dockworker from Las Palmas looking to change your family's life.
29:32Just sum up the emotions and what this tournament means to you, means to Spain.
29:40Well, the first question.
29:42I think that before Tupouria became the world champion of UFC,
29:49there were great competitors, great athletes in Las Palmas, especially in Spain.
29:56Now it is true that with all of Tupouria,
30:00many people, many kids will start training, will start sacrificing themselves.
30:07It is an impulse for Spain.
30:11I fight for Spain and for the Canary Islands.
30:15And because of that flag, I gave my life.
30:20And to the Octagon tournament, I can only say thank you very much for counting on me for this event.
30:34If it is about the Octagon, I would like to thank you very much for counting on me.
30:40I am really extremely grateful.
30:43It was a great, excellent question, because yes,
30:47many new, great fighters are currently born or training in Spain,
30:54who are approaching the UFC and want to get into it.
30:58We have great fighters, both in Las Palmas and in the rest of Spain.
31:04And yes, as you said, I still carry and love the Spanish flag.
31:13And above all, I fight for the Canary Islands, because that is where I come from.
31:19Once again, thank you very much to the Octagon for this amazing opportunity. Thank you.
31:28You are a quarter-finalist in the TIPSport Game Changer.
31:31Give it up one more time, from Spain, Akoidan Duke!
