00:00MP for Port of Spain South was still soaking in his ministerial appointment but was ready
00:06to hit the ground running.
00:08If you were to ask me a priority, yes, I have no doubt in my mind that my first priority
00:18has to be the reduction of crime and to bring back a sense of feeling of safety for Trinidad
00:26and Tobago.
00:27Scotland was asked if part of this plan would incorporate meeting with Commissioner of Police
00:31Ula-Hilary Christopher to address the worrying subject matter of crime.
00:35And yes, I am prepared to engage in meaningful talks with the Commissioner of Police.
00:41Of course, I will receive my appointment first but that is on top of the agenda along with
00:49the Police Comprehensive Authority.
00:50He also gave an assurance to do his utmost to regain the public's trust in the Trinidad
00:55and Tobago Police Service.
00:57You think you can boost the public and by extension ETTPS confidence that is so lacking
01:02right now in terms of crime?
01:05I will try my best to do that.
