00:00Yeah, with Robertson, it's been no secret. Pompey were very keen, are very keen, it's
00:06not sorted yet, is it, to bring him back to Threatened Park. But it's complicated by the
00:12fact that he's in the final 12 months of his contract. So to Man City sending out a player
00:17on loan for 12 months, well, there's no point because if he's going to leave them anyway,
00:21well, they might as well cash in on him now. So I spoke to Robertson in May, and May's
00:26a few months ago now, obviously. And he didn't, he wasn't sure of the situation himself, whether
00:30they wanted to keep him, whether he'd be getting a new deal, whether they'd be loaning him
00:34out. So it's not quite that simple with Robertson, and Pompey have been waiting and monitoring
00:38the situation. Now, if they wanted to sign him, he's clearly going to cost a fair bit
00:43of money. I think that's natural, isn't it, really? Man City don't sell players on the
00:49cheap, they sell players to raise money for the club. And whatever card, if we're prepared
00:55to pay for him, and we know they're prepared to pay for him, what would you say? One million
00:59plus? Is that fair? Fair enough?
01:01But just on the latest figures released by Clubs for the 2023 season, Cardiff's overall
01:11wage bill was cut by £7 million from £29 million to £22 million. And that's a £7
01:17million cut. Pompey's in the same period, went from £7.9 million, this is not just
01:22wage player wages, but overall wages, to £8.3 million. So even with that cut, Cardiff's
01:28was three times as much as Pompey.
01:31It's not ideal, it's not what we want, but you have to be realistic. There's no point
01:35moaning and groaning about the billionaire owners putting more money in, then it's not
01:39how they operate. They want to be, I think Eric Isaac said a very particular phrase about
01:44sustainability, there's different ways of view sustainability. And the owners are quite
01:51prepared to put in additional funds, equity, to drive the infrastructure and aspects around
02:00the football club. And they've done that to £37 million so far, haven't they?
