Emma Corrin reveals with THR how Shawn Levy helped sell them on the idea of appearing in 'Deadpool & Wolverine' despite not being able to share major details about the plot. Plus, they discuss channeling their villainous performance in the film.

00:00So you talked about your role being inspired by Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka.

00:05What aspects did you pull from that?

00:09It's sort of how Gene Wilder watches the chaos unfold and is quite reserved and nonchalant

00:16about the whole thing.

00:17But he does come across as this sort of grand puppet master that's pulling all the strings,

00:21so I enjoyed that.

00:23Now you said you wanted to train and work out for this and they told you not to.

00:28Well no, obviously Marvel don't tell you much when you get the first call, so I heard they

00:34were interested in me playing the villain and I thought, okay, finally I'll be able

00:37to learn some fight combat, I'll be doing some serious stunts.

00:41And then they told me, you know, your powers, you're telepathic.

00:44I was like, are you serious, really?

00:46Does that mean you want to get into something more physical too for roles down the road?

00:50You know what, I think this film has taught me that actually sometimes having the least

00:55tools, as in it being all internal, is kind of the biggest challenge.

01:00As a villain too, is that something as an actor that you love to do because you get

01:05to be someone that you're obviously not?

01:07Yeah, definitely.

01:08I think out of all the characters I've played, Cassandra's probably the least like myself

01:12and so it was a real joy to explore that.

01:15And you were talking about getting the call and the script and very vagueness at first.

01:20How difficult is that to be like, what am I getting myself into?

01:23You know what?

01:24Very quickly, I met with Sean Levy, our director, and I promise you, Sean is the most exceptional

01:29salesperson.

01:30I mean, he could sell me absolutely anything and I'd buy it.

01:33So out of the whole Disney universe too, who do you like to bring into the Deadpool universe

01:39and corrupt?

01:41Ooh.

01:42I mean, probably Charles Xavier, although Cassandra has very selfish reasons for that.

01:47But maybe Strange.

01:50That's interesting.

01:51Everybody's been going the simple, like, Donald Duck.

01:52Really?

01:54Oh, not MCU people you mean?

01:55Any Disney.

01:56Anyone?

01:57Any Disney.

01:58Oh, okay.

01:59I thought you meant MCU people.

02:01Oh my gosh.

02:02Yeah, Donald Duck would be a good one.
