00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here coming to you from

00:07Royal Troon on the morning of the third round of the 152nd Open Championship. And yes, the

00:17wind is still blowing here on the Ayrshire coast. It really got up on Friday afternoon

00:25in the second round. It caused all sorts of problems, leading to a number of the big names

00:32in the game heading home early. They included US Open champion Bryson de Chambleau, the

00:40runner-up in that event, Rory McIlroy, Ludwig Eberg, the world number four last year's FedEx

00:46Cup winner, Victor Hovland, and Henrik Stenson, the winner here the last time the Open was

00:53staged at Royal Troon in 2014. The leader at the halfway stage is someone who handles

01:02tough conditions well, Irishman Shane Lowry, the winner at Royal Cork Rush in 2019 on seven

01:10under par. He's two shots ahead of English duo Justin Rose and Dan Brown. World number

01:18one Scottish sheffler, he's lurking ominously on the leaderboard. He's going to be a danger

01:24man over the weekend with others in contention including PGA champion Xander Shoffley, Patrick

01:31Cantlie, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson. Three Scots are through to the weekend, led by Nairn

01:38amateur Callum Scott. He's facing three other rivals in the battle for a silver medal over

01:45the weekend. Bob McIntyre, the newly crowned Genesis Scottish Open champion. He was eight

01:52over par after four holes in the second round and facing an early journey up the road to

01:59Open. But boy, what a sensational fight back he produced covering the remaining stretch

02:04and four under par. Magnificent stuff for the Scot. He's through to the weekend and

02:10also Ewan Ferguson, who was out in the first match on the second day and thought he was

02:15maybe one shot too many. But as that wind got up and the score started to soar, he also

02:22made it through to the weekend. Fascinating couple of days ahead here. To keep up to date
