00:00Welcome to the new Us Weekly. I'm Dan Wakeford, your editor-in-chief.
00:07I've spent the last three months thinking about how to make this iconic
00:11American magazine even better. My journey began by listening to you, our valued readers.
00:16And I discovered that there were many things you cherish about Us Weekly,
00:20like how we always bring you the big scoopy stories and fun,
00:23candid celebrity photos of the week. But we want to give you more.
00:26So building on this, we're excited to introduce a new range of features
00:31that we really think that you'll love. There's going to be more pages. We've added 12 pages
00:35to the print magazine, packed with exclusive celebrity stories to give you more bang for
00:40your buck. There's going to be more celebrities. We're delivering more interviews than ever before
00:45with the stars that you like, like Glenn Powell, Selma Blair, and Karl McLaughlin,
00:50who all wanted to be part of this relaunch issue. There's more trust. In a world where
00:54you no longer know who or what to believe, we take credibility and the truth very seriously.
00:59So you can trust the stories we bring you. There's going to be more joy. Life is harder
01:03than ever. So we're making Us Weekly more fun, lighthearted, and positive to bring you joy to
01:09your day. There's going to be more smarts. I'm a big believer that the higher your IQ,
01:14the greater the need for gossip. Indulging yourself in the Hollywood world just shows
01:18that you're interested in life and relationships and people. Celebrity stories can teach us a lot
01:23about ourselves and the world around us. So our talented journalists will bring a sharper,
01:28brighter focus to our reporting. More stars are just like Us content. We love celebrities,
01:34not just because they're famous, but because their stories reflect our own lives. We talk
01:38about them the same way that we talk about our friends. We show them the same compassion.
01:44But we also tease them the way we would with our pals too. So we've extended this section
01:49and the focus on the website as it shows what we have in common with people rather than what
01:54we have in different with them. There's going to be much more entertainment. Entertainment
01:57really brings us together as an in-culture. There's never been a more exciting time in
02:02pop culture than now. The endless digital landscape has given us an explosion of new music,
02:07films, TV, podcasts, and books. It's a lot, right? We'll curate only the very best stuff so you know
02:14what to watch, listen, and to spend your time on. We'll gather around all your pop culture
02:20obsessions and carry on the storytelling when the shows stop. We love what we do,
02:24but we're doing this for you. So please let me know what you think. Email me any feedback
02:31at editor at usmagazine.com. Please enjoy.
