00:00Hello there though, good morning to you. A new week often gives you the chance to

00:04start afresh. Unfortunately the weather hasn't quite caught the memo. Still stuck

00:08in the same pattern I'm afraid. More areas of low pressure heading towards us

00:11over the next few days. Maybe brief ridges of high pressure to settle things

00:14down but not before another area of low arrives. Why? Well the jet stream is still

00:19stuck in the very same position it has been pretty much for the whole of summer

00:22so far. It's moving directly towards the UK and helping to push those areas of

00:27low pressure towards us as well. Bringing that changeable and unsettled

00:31theme for yet another week. If we rewind back to the start of Monday morning then

00:36our first area of low pressure is moving its way into the southwest and is

00:41already bringing some outbreaks of rain to areas of southwest England. These will

00:44be very quickly turning quite heavy. Potentially some torrential downpours of

00:48rain and thunderstorms also possible and so there is a yellow rain warning in

00:52force for southwest England and Wales. Do take care because some localised

00:57flooding and travel disruption is certainly possible. Some of that rain

01:00just moving into the southeast of England as well will feel quite humid

01:03here under all of there but generally the northern half of the UK generally

01:06staying dry. A few showers to watch out for but with some bright and sunny spells

01:10around. Temperatures responding in that brightness around 20 to 22 degrees

01:14Celsius here so certainly for parts of northern England and eastern Scotland

01:17where it has been so cloudy over the weekend today is going to feel like a

01:20much better day here. That rain will continue its progression northwards as

01:25we head throughout this evening and overnight. Again some heavy thundery

01:28pulses possible for southeast England. It will eventually stall a bit across

01:32parts of North Wales into the Midlands over towards the Humber and Yorkshire

01:35area during the second half of the night. Drier for Scotland and Northern Ireland

01:39still a fair amount of cloud around maybe an isolated shower in the mixture

01:43but underneath all that cloud for many of us it is going to be a very mild

01:46night. Temperatures not dropping much lower than 13 or 15 degrees Celsius. We'll

01:52be picking up a bit of a breeze around southern areas of England during

01:56Tuesday and particularly as that area of low-pressure swirls its way around

01:59towards the North Sea will turn quite gusty along some coastlines. For your

02:03morning rush hour on Tuesday then it's going to be North Wales into that

02:06Midlands Humber area that sees the heaviest of pulses before the rain

02:08eventually clears. Behind that is a mixture of sunshine and showers. Some of

02:12those showers again on the heavy side potentially quite sharp and thundery for

02:16eastern counties of England up towards eastern Scotland as well. Temperatures

02:20on Tuesday ranging between 19 and 23 degrees Celsius. So again if you do catch

02:25one of those sunnier spells it will feel quite pleasant and warm if you are

02:29outside. There's plenty more updates on what we can see throughout the full week
