Anthony Albanese condemns Donald Trump rally shooting

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says all Australians stand with our friends in the United States after the shooting at Donald Trump’s campaign rally.

00:08Americans share and the freedom that we treasure. Let us be clear, the people at

00:14this event, the candidate, the crowd, the free press covering it, were all

00:21participating in the democratic process. In Australia, as in the United States, the

00:27essence and the purpose of our democracies is that we can express our

00:33views, debate our disagreements and resolve our differences peacefully. We do

00:40so with respect for each other and in the spirit of a shared love of our

00:46country. Any act of violence is an affront to that and must be condemned

00:51unequivocally.
