00:08Hey guys, VickHD here.
00:10Boy, do I have a story to tell you guys.
00:13You see, believe it or not, I did manage to work with James Rolfe at one point.
00:18Yeah, the angry video game nerd.
00:21Albeit indirectly, but I did work with him.
00:24And it was involving this teaser trailer for a fan game that was going to be released at the time.
00:31This was back in 2009, during the early years of the angry video game nerd when it started to catch on.
00:38And during that time there were a lot of fan games that were being developed.
00:43And of course, James was involved in some of the audio recordings, audio lines of some of these fan games.
00:50So they were kind of cool with it.
00:52A good friend of mine, Otsuka, he got involved in one of the projects called ABGN Random Rampage.
00:58Which was basically a first person shooter, Doom clone kind of concept.
01:03Where it's the nerd shooting a bunch of, let's say, licensed LJN games or something similar to that.
01:10And it was kind of like a funny concept at first.
01:13But the game unfortunately never came out.
01:16But at the time, Otsuka actually got in contact with the game developer.
01:21And pitched this idea of doing, let's say, a 3D animated teaser trailer of the angry video game nerd character.
01:28Being interrogated by this detective over mistreatment of licensed games.
01:33Otsuka eventually got in contact with me to help him out for two things.
01:37One, as a script writer.
01:39And two, being the live action placeholder scene for this project.
01:45See, I actually went to Otsuka's house and did the live action scenes as sort of a placeholder.
01:52Just so I could act out both from the nerd's perspective and from the detective's perspective.
01:58And it all boils down to, let's say, the nerd pretty much attacking the detective.
02:04And just grabbing him by the throat, wearing the power glove.
02:07It was going to be like a really funny scene there.
02:11So eventually I wrote the script. I sent it to Otsuka.
02:15Otsuka sent it to Cinemassacre.
02:18And of course, James Rolfe actually replied, sent the lines, tweaked the script a little bit.
02:25Sent it to me. And we acted this out.
02:28And we filmed this in Otsuka's house.
02:32Just as sort of like a sample of what the scene would look like.
02:37And we did have a bit of fun working on it.
02:39Unfortunately, due to unknown circumstances, the game never really took off.
02:44And we had this demo for many years.
02:48We kind of established a non-disclosure agreement in the event if the game was ever released or ever made.
02:55But unfortunately, that never really came up again.
03:00But I still have, let's say, the demo.
03:02And the demo has been sitting on one of my clouds for many years.
03:06And I was wondering if it would be okay to share it.
03:09So I decided to reach out to Otsuka to see if he would be fine with me sharing the clip.
03:16And he pretty much gave me the go-ahead.
03:18So what you have here is an actual clip of that trailer.
03:24This placeholder of what could have been.
03:26So I hope you enjoy this clip.
03:30Alright, tough guy. Let's start from the top.
03:33What's your occupation?
03:35I'm a game critic.
03:37Hmm. What can you tell me about these old movies?
03:41Well, some of those are awesome. But the others are a piece of shit.
03:46What about the games based on these movies?
03:49All those games suck ass.
03:51Are you the man responsible of torturing most of these games?
03:54What if I am?
03:55Don't act cool with me, kid.
03:57I got numerous reports here of you destroying and vandalizing games and consoles from other companies that are, quote, a shitload of fuck.
04:04Because it's true. I destroyed these games because the companies who made them are an abomination to society.
04:10The games are a piece of shit, and I'm the only one around here that knows exactly what to do with them.
04:16What are you gonna do, kid? You gonna take me back to the past?
04:20I'm not afraid of some wussy-ass video game nerd.
04:24Guess who's playing with power now, bitch.
04:27Now, as stated before, this scene was originally going to have the nerd choke the detective while wearing the power glove.
04:38It was supposed to be like a really funny scene just to build up the trailer for Random Rampage, and unfortunately that just didn't materialize.
04:45However, Osuka actually sent me an image of a character render of the angry video game nerd in 3D.
04:54He did this animating it in 3DS Max, which was a 3D animation tool that he was using at the time.
05:01But yeah, that was the brief instant where I actually worked with James Rolfe and the people at Cinemasker.
05:07I'll be indirectly, but I did work with them at one point.
05:11If I was given the opportunity to work with James Rolfe in some way, shape, or form, I would be thrilled to help him out in some way.
05:18But who knows, maybe in the foreseeable future I might get involved in a project with them and we'll see along the way what will happen.
05:26Anyway, thanks for watching as well as thanks to Osuka for giving me the go-ahead to share this video as well as sharing this little character render.
05:36And I just wanted to show you guys that yeah, I did get involved with Cinemasker at some point.
05:41And who knows, maybe in the future I might help him out again.
05:45Only one can dream, right?
05:47But anyway, don't forget to like, share, subscribe, leave a comment, and help support the channel in any way you can.
05:54And I'll see you guys down the road.
05:56Till next time!
