00:06This is what former MIC President Dr. S. Subramaniam had to say on the party delegates' decision

00:11in their polls last week.

00:14He expressed shock and hurt at the development, noting Mohan's immense contributions to

00:19the Indian community, especially for Tamil schools.

00:23He said Mohan single-handedly developed the Malaysian Indian Football Association into

00:27a powerful sports entity, making it a Malaysia Premier League runner-up once.

00:32Subramaniam also hoped that MIC leaders and members would ensure Mohan stays with the

00:36party, saying that at 51, the former vice president still has much to offer.

00:42He said that as party chief, he had personally witnessed Mohan standing up for the Indian

00:46community during evictions or the destruction of Hindu temples.

00:50On Sunday, Mohan lost the race for one of the three vice president posts to Emma Sojan,

00:55T. Murugiah and R. Nelson, despite being a favourite and having won the most votes

01:00in the 2021 election.
