00:00A political analyst said the Indian community wants a reliable vote bank for Pakatan Harapan
00:07has become disillusioned with the coalition over its inadequate representation of the

00:13Azmi Hassan of Akademi Nusantara said DAP and PKR have neglected the community, leading
00:20to higher dissatisfaction with the parties.
00:23He said the disillusionment was apparent at the Merubai election two years ago, when PH
00:29despite winning the Selangor state seat, lost a significant portion of the Indian vote.
00:34Earlier this week, Penang DAP Deputy Chief Ram Kapal Singh announced a revival of the
00:40state chapter's Indian Affairs Bureau to address the pressing concerns of the community
00:44in the state.
00:46Meanwhile, J. Panir Selvam, a member of the all-party Parliamentary Group on Sustainable
00:51Development Goals Secretariat, said no one party can claim to have the support of the
00:56Indian community.
00:58He said while MIC once did a commendable job, under initiatives like Yayasan Strategic
01:03Sosil, now Indians are spread across multiple parties.
01:07Panir Selvam said although this fragmentation can be seen as division, it is also a sign
01:13of political maturity.
