00:00The largest China Coast Guard Vessel, the Monster, was also in the sea of Escoda Shoal.
00:09It was radioed by the PCG ship that also deployed the BRP-13 in Banoa.
00:16The whole detail in the video was recorded by Patrick De Jesus.
00:20The largest China Coast Guard Vessel 5901, also known as the Monster, remained in Sabina or Escoda Shoal.
00:30It was last monitored by AIS.
00:34The Monster is still in the vicinity of Escoda Shoal,
00:38which is only a few distances away from the Philippine Coast Guard ship BRP Teresa Magbanua.
00:47Since Wednesday, the China Coast Guard ship has been in Escoda Shoal.
00:52When will it return to the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines?
00:57The Monster was first spotted in May near Baudemocinloc or Panatag Shoal.
01:03Last week, it circled the entire West Philippine Sea,
01:08where it reached the EEZ of Malaysia and Brunei.
01:13Before, the CCG 5901 only passed by.
01:17Now, it will remain in Escoda Shoal for a long time.
01:23I expect that probably the Monster will remain there for some time,
01:27just to sort of establish China's presence and keep an eye on Teresa Magbanua.
01:34The Monster ship, actually, mostly I have tracked it over the past couple of years
01:40in Malaysia's exclusive economic zone and Vietnam's exclusive economic zone.
01:46So, having it sort of take up this position in the Philippines' exclusive economic zone is a little bit new.
01:53So, and I would expect, you know, to probably, yes, that you will see more of it in the future.
01:58The Philippine Coast Guard ship BRP Teresa Magbanua,
02:03was reported as a monster ship by the China Coast Guard.
02:07China Coast Guard vessel 5901 within the vicinity waters of Sabina Shoal.
02:14This is Philippine Coast Guard vessel BRP Teresa Magbanua, MRRV 9701.
02:22You are sailing within the Philippines' exclusive economic zone.
02:26What is your intention? Over.
02:29Over.
02:32It entered the EEZ of the country again,
02:35despite the bilateral consultation mechanism meeting between the Philippines and China,
02:42where the tension in the West Philippine Sea was eased.
02:47For a maritime security expert,
02:50China should look more closely than what it is saying.
02:55China is that you always have to watch what they do more than what they say.
03:01So, you know, in this case, you know, China is, you know, having these meetings and talking about de-escalation.
03:08But China always puts the responsibility for de-escalation on the other party.
03:14So what China will expect is that the Philippines will de-escalate.
03:18And of course, what the Philippines and anyone who negotiates with the government of China is that,
03:24you know, you have to make sure that you don't, you know, de-escalate while China simply repositions to its advantage.
03:36Meanwhile, a mass was held today in Antipolo Cathedral
03:40at the head of the PCG Ecumenical Chaplain Service
03:44to pray for a peaceful resolution in the West Philippine Sea.
03:51All the resources, all the assets of our government,
03:56our vessels, our ships,
03:59our human resources are being used
04:04for the purpose of maintaining peace
04:09and our desire is respect for our own territory
04:15that is under the control of our own sea
04:18which, as we know, is blessed by the love of God.
