00:36It was December of 2020. I had just gone through a bad breakup a few months prior.
00:40And Grissom was going through his teenager phase.
00:44And even though we had just started working with a trainer, he was a lot to handle.
00:52Grissom has always been a very anxious and apprehensive dog ever since the day I took him home.

01:05We worked with a trainer and she taught me so much about anxiety in dogs and figuring out what are Grissom's triggers.
01:18So we were playing fetch.

01:24I was thinking about a training session that we had where she was telling you,
01:28this is what you do if he grabs the leash.
01:31Like nobody tells you what to do when he grabs your hood.
01:38I knew that he wasn't being aggressive. He's not an aggressive dog.
01:42I just know that he was feeling a little overstimulated.
01:48When I first laid down, I thought he let go.
01:51And I was just laughing like, oh my gosh, I can't believe that this happened.
01:54But then I felt him tugging more and the laughter just ensued even more.
02:00Just surrendering to the moment and letting myself laugh was the release I needed after a tough period.
02:05It's almost like Grissom knew.
02:09Oh, darn. You're gonna have to leave it out there.
02:14Since then, our bond has only become so much stronger.
02:21He truly is my best friend.
02:25I know you would love to lay in bed all day, but that's not the way the cookie crumbles.
02:29He is the great love of my life, and I consider him my soul dog.
02:37I just spend every day trying to give him the best and most love-filled life.
