00:00It is even on the way the Fast Track to the Sea project for the enhancement of the railway connections of the port of Civitavecchia.
00:10The project, of which the final event was presented at the headquarters of the Port Authority,
00:15not only marks a fundamental turning point for the efficiency of the port,
00:19foreseeing the re-arrangement of the existing tracks and the construction of a new railway line for the arrival and departure of trains,
00:25but also coincides with the recent conclusion of the path of inclusion of Civitavecchia and Porti del Lazio within the TNT network.
00:32Well, first of all, the conclusion of a project that allowed us to work hard on the last railway line,
00:39on the connectivity of the port with the national and European railway network,

00:51so we were promoted by the comprehensive network to Porto Core, so we took advantage of this closing event.
00:58The new railway line will be equipped with seven tracks, each with a maximum length of 615 meters,

01:07This change is in line with the most modern European standards for the railway transport of goods,
01:13improving the operational capacity of the port.
01:15Among the innovations introduced, there is also the activation of a new agreement with Terminal Container and the areas adjacent to the benches,
01:22all interventions that will eliminate the interference currently existing, optimizing the flow of operations.
01:31The project has benefited from a contribution of 3.8 million euros by the European Union,
01:36generated through the investment program Connecting Europe Facility,
01:40underlined by Thea Crizzan, responsible for the Climate Infrastructure and Environment project.
01:46This program represents the main tool for the financing of transport infrastructures,
01:51managed directly by the European Commission, through its executive agency.
01:56The inclusion of the Port of Civitavecchia in the list of Porti Core of the TNT network
02:00represents an important recognition for the port, underlining its strategic relevance in the context of European transport networks.
02:07The adoption of the TNT regulation sees Italy covering a strategic location in the Mediterranean,
02:12explained by Maria Giovanna Sgariglia, Director General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport,
02:17intervened at the event.
02:19The Scandinavian-Mediterranean corridor represents in fact an important corridor
02:23and the inclusion of the Port of Civitavecchia will allow to attract European incentives.
02:27With the completion of the Fast Track to the Sea project,
02:30the Port of Civitavecchia not only strengthens its position as a logistical hub of primary importance,
02:35but also contributes to the European goals of sustainability and efficiency in the transport of goods.
