00:00Our roofers are from Anglesey and they're experts in this heritage renovation.
00:12After the fire they redeveloped the interior of the building,
00:17modeling it on Oxford and Cambridge. Slap an extra floor in and create two roofs out of what they did.
00:24So there's a lot of places in the project that we'll be taking these extra floor down
00:27going forward. So we've got Fran the archaeologist on site watching all of this

01:22So we've got four dining rooms which are all interlinked and linked back to the finishing
01:26kitchen. So a great dining room. This is a glorious place.
01:37It's the best room in the world.
01:41We'll have a little tv outside saying what's on in that space at the moment and
01:46program for other times in that space because wayfinding is going to be quite a challenge.
01:53So this was a double height space and now we put a new floor in so quite a challenge for the
02:01builders to get this floor in to create four bedrooms here. This was originally the billiard
02:08room in the hotel. It then became the common room for the university and then in the 1960s
02:14the university changed into their council chamber and you can see where they put a new ceiling in
02:21which hid these arches and the wooden ceiling above which we're now going to have there was
02:28in order to flood the room with daylight so pre-electric light this would have been a
02:32chemistry lecture theatre and would have been flooded with daylight in order to to operate
02:37as electricity offices. So we stripped all that out. We thought of putting back sort of glass
02:44partitions to create individual offices. We're not going to do that now because we think it looks
02:48absolutely glorious as one big open space. You can imagine underneath the
02:52level of the road so we've had to tank it and put new drainage in.
02:59This room will then be the student study room.
