00:00So Kate, what sort of condition was the building in when you took it over?
00:04Yeah, it's extremely dilapidated in poor condition, unsealed, had water leakage. So
00:11the Port of Newcastle, when we took possession, that was the key focus for us is making it safe,
00:17sealing it up and repairing some of the areas that obviously needed repairing. So structural
00:23integrity, making sure that the building was safe and we've completed some works out the front to
00:29obviously open up the boundary to the community. And where are you up to now in terms of the next
00:36stage of works? Yep, so we've completed two stages to date, which is really just making
00:41sure it is sealed up and safe. The final stage is connecting to water and power,
00:46and there's some additional asbestos removal to be done within the main engine room. Then we can
00:52look for commercial opportunities and a future tenant to really realise the vision of this site.
00:56So I understand you have been talking to some potential
01:02businesses that are interested in operating out of here. What are some of the proposals that have
01:07come forward so far? Yeah, look, we're really open to any opportunity. We don't have an earmarked
01:13future vision for the site, but it would be great to see any sort of food and beverage sites,
01:19anything that really attracts and maintains the heritage significance of the site. It's a
01:24beautiful building and we'd love to see any future tenant really emphasise that beauty. It's quite unique.
