Wind turbine components arrive at Port of Newcastle

Around 30,000 wind turbine components arrived at the Port, on the way to becoming Squadron Energy's Uungula NSW Wind Farm.

00:00Today we've got the first imports of the Yungula wind farm that Squadron Energy is developing

00:05in the Central West.

00:07Obviously a big day, but also we've been doing this for a while so that's why people

00:13come here and we know that people will still be coming here at the rate it's going probably

00:17for the next 20 years.

00:19It's a nice little moment in our history as a port, but we have so much more to do.

00:25This import is a continuation of what's already been going on, but now we can all see that

00:30it's starting to really ramp up.

00:32You've got the renewable energy zones that the state government is developing, you've

00:36got these private wind farms that are going on, and fortunately for us at the port we

00:41are now over 90% of all those imports.
