TG's Child Care Centre is opening in Kirkwood Street, Armidale

Armidale has a new child care centre opening in July.

00:00Hello, welcome, come on in. This is going to be the new TGs in Kirkwood Street, Armidale.

00:07I'm Gail, this is Trevor, T and G for TGs. As you can see at the moment we're a bit bare

00:14and there's not much happening, well there's lots happening, but we will be opening in

00:18about three or four weeks time and it will be completely transformed.

00:22So this is one of our play spaces, as you can see, very empty here at the moment.

00:26In about three or four weeks time this will be full of happy, laughing children,

00:30wonderful educators sharing their skills, and lots of furniture, equipment, resources

00:35and activities for the children to be involved in.

00:39So this is the beautiful outdoor space that the masterpiece, Trevor's going to be transforming

00:45the outdoor space here into, what is now a bit of a mess, but it will be.

00:49Yeah, we've got an enormous garden and it's so good, we've got beautiful big open,

00:53age appropriate flat areas for the younger age group to play in.

00:57They've got their own sandpit, little bike track and grassed areas.

01:01A very big open grassed area here under this elm tree, the Chinese elm.

01:06Beautiful summer shade, and then as we progress to the older age groups,

01:11we're going to wander down through another really big sandpit,

01:14a ball play area under the shade sails, a creek bed,

01:21we'll enhance that boat area, and one of the features that I love watching the children play

01:26is just a loose area construction zone.

01:29They can move things about, they can build cubby houses, they can get dirty,

01:34they can just use their imagination and creativity to explore.

01:40So about three weeks, four weeks time maybe, we'll all be coming together.

01:44Yeah, the stage one will be completed in three or four weeks

01:47and then we'll gradually evolve the rest over the next few months.
