00:14staggering and imposing debuts by bosses across the Souls series and its counterparts.

00:48Granted this may seem rather low-key as far as boss entrances go, a gigantic hammer-wielding

00:53executioner followed by his spear-twirling companion, but that's just the thing.

00:58It's the both of them, at once!

01:08A landmark at the time, having two vastly different yet equally challenging Souls bosses

01:12to face at the same time, that fact alone boasted a great amount of intimidation back

01:17in the day.

01:18Of course, to the two of them, it was just another Tuesday, and they were ready to get

01:23to the killing.

01:29Abyss Watchers, Dark Souls 3.

01:40You know you're in for a tough time when you walk into a boss fight mid-massacre.

01:45Amidst the bodies of their order, we're witness to the apparent last of the Abyss Watchers

01:49as it impales its companion before setting its sights on us, looking for a fresh challenge.

02:05Even without knowing that the Undead Legion would live up to their namesake throughout

02:08the battle, this little spectacle was more than enough to showcase that we were about

02:13to go up against Faron's top dog, and the first true Lord of Cinder, Morgoth, the Omen

02:26King, Elden Ring.

02:42Wait a second, didn't we kill this guy already?

02:45Well, as it happens, who we once believed to be Margit the Fel Omen is no mere substandard

02:50boss, but actually a legitimate demigod, one who has made it his mission to defend the

02:56capital.

03:05After revealing himself to be alive and well, Morgoth decries his divine siblings, swaps

03:10out his cane for a blade, and prepares to show the tarnished his kingly wrath.

03:15He may have all manner of family issues, but he makes it clear that he's got the strength

03:20to back up his claims.

03:29Isshin the Sword Saint, Sekiro, Shadows Die Twice.

03:42There have been many incidents across the Soulsborne series that we would consider an

03:46oh shit moment, this is up there with the best.

03:50After finally bringing Genichiro to heal, Wolf and the player aren't given a moment

03:54to spare as the defiant Ashina uses the second mortal blade to make his dream a reality.

03:59Which happens to involve his resurrected grandfather, now in his prime.

04:10It's not even the fact this man pulled himself out of a neck wound, it's knowing

04:14that we now have to deal with the legendary sword saint at his apex.

04:29Nameless King, Dark Souls 3.

04:39Just the amount of build up towards this fight is imposing.

04:43Before being able to access the hidden boss of Archdragon Peak, the Ashin one is warned

04:47that if they ring the giant bell, everything will be destroyed.

04:51They weren't wrong.

05:02After consuming the entire area in a storm, in comes the Nameless King, riding his wyvern,

05:08ready to lay the smackdown on anyone foolish enough to challenge him.

05:12It's a fitting introduction to one of the series most beloved bosses, and that's all

05:16before he decides to bring the thunder himself after you slay his pet.

05:26Lady Maria of the Astral Clock Tower, Bloodborne.

05:35She may bear a striking resemblance to your beloved doll waifu, but make no mistake, the

05:41real thing is far more terrifying.

05:44After admonishing you for getting a tad too handsy, Maria decides to show you personally

05:49why curiosity killed the hunter, via her twin swords, which, spoiler alert, she is demonstrably

05:56adept at using.

06:05Much like her teacher, she radiates authority and bloodlust, promising to put you in your

06:10place.

06:11And for many of us, she did, rather swiftly at that.

06:20Rhycard, Lord of Blasphemy, Elden Ring.

06:26We knew there was something wicked lurking in the heart of Volcano Manor, we just never

06:31expected… this.

06:38A giant snake we could deal with, it's practically standard fare for Soulsborne games

06:42by this point.

06:43But then, Rhycard reveals himself in earnest, as a horrific hybrid using said snake as his

06:49body, while also keeping a blade of living flesh buried in its throat.

07:04It's a nightmarish sight to behold, and all his talk of family and togetherness only

07:09makes things worse.

07:17Slave Knight Gael, Dark Souls 3.

07:27So turns out that quirky knight who helps you out with the occasional boss battle, he's…

07:33well, he's been through some stuff.

07:35At the end of the world, the only ones remaining are the Ashen One and Gael, and let's just

07:40say the centuries have done a number on him, feasting on the ancient remains of the Ring

07:49City's inhabitants in search of the Dark Soul, overtaken by madness, etc.

07:54Unfortunately for us, all that time has jacked him up something fierce, and he's all too

07:59ready to show you just how strong he's become.

08:02With several shades of shocking, epic and haunting all layered together.

08:17Ludwig the Accursed, Bloodborne.

08:30There have been bosses that have grossed us out.

08:32There have been bosses that heavily leaned into the eldritch horror element.

08:36But none come close to matching the dread that is Ludwig.

08:40An amalgamation of beast, man and insanity, Ludwig is a harrowing creation that scared

08:45many a hunter stiff before they could even draw their weapons.

08:56The opening narration is the spine-tingling cherry on top, as we are introduced to the

09:00accursed unsettling visage, its signature hellish scream and the number of dead already

09:05left in its wake.

09:13Radagon of the Golden Order, Elden Ring.

09:18Surprises, betrayals and revelations are all part of the course in The Lands Between.

09:25That being said, the reveal of the final boss' true identity was monumental.

09:30We were all expecting our Tarnis to trade blows with Queen Marika in some shape or form,

09:35but upon reaching the heart of the Erg Tree, her body slowly starts to shift to become…

09:40her husband?

09:45Yep, Marika and Radagon are the same person.

09:51And before you even have a chance to question how the hell that even works, the epic music

09:56kicks in, followed by Radagon going full hammer time.
