00:07as part of the government's commitment to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
00:13In the two-page proclamation number 597, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on June 13,
00:20the President directs the Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD,
00:25through the National Council on Disability Affairs to lead, coordinate and supervise the week-long commemoration.
00:31In issuing the proclamation, the Chief Executive said,
00:34the country has been committed to the purpose of the UNCRPD
00:38to promote, protect and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of human rights
00:42and fundamental freedoms by persons with disabilities
00:45and to promote respect for their inherent dignity.
