00:18President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. declared July 17 to July 23
00:23as the National Disability Rights Week.
00:26This is part of the government's commitment to the United Nations Convention
00:30on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
00:32In accordance with Proclamation No. 597
00:35passed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin,
00:38President R. Marcos ordered the Department of Social Welfare and Development,
00:43as well as the National Council on Disability Affairs,
00:46to initiate and establish the National Disability Rights Week.
00:50According to President R. Marcos,
00:51this is part of the protection of the PWD
00:54and the establishment of equal rights and freedoms for the PWD.
00:59June 24 was also declared as a special non-working day in the city of Manila.
01:04In accordance with Proclamation No. 599,
01:07this is a celebration of the 453rd anniversary of the establishment of the city.
01:13President R. Marcos signed the Republic Act No. 12007 and 12008
01:21in the Senior High and Elementary School in Bacoro City, Cavite.
01:25This is the Progressive Senior High School in Barangay Bayanan
01:28and the Progressive Elementary School in Barangay Molino II.
01:32President Marcos also passed the law that requires the District Engineering Offices
01:38of the Department of Public Works and Highways in Bukidnon,
01:41Negros Occidental, Bataan, Bulacan, and Iloilo.
01:45The so-called DPWH District Engineering Offices
01:48will receive a fund from the National Government's annual budget.
