Rotherham: Drummond Street murder probe launched as man dies and four arrested

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died in hospital following a "serious assault" on Drummond Street, Rotherham.  Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder.  Editor of The Star, Claire Lewis, reports from the police cordon.

00:00I'm in Drummond Street, close to Rotherham Town Centre this afternoon, where police have launched

00:04a murder investigation. Officers were called to this car park behind me, close to the Tesco Extra,

00:11at around 12.18am, following reports of an altercation involving a group of men.

00:18Sadly, one man was found seriously injured. He was taken to hospital, but despite the efforts

00:23of medics, he was pronounced dead a short time later. At this moment in time, police have not

00:29yet revealed the identity of the dead man. They are working to inform his next of kin.

00:35Four arrests have been made so far as part of this investigation.

00:39One woman and three men are being held.
