00:00Hi, I'm Tim Blake Nelson, and I am on Life Minute TV.
00:05Glad you're watching.
00:06♪♪
00:09A really beautifully written role and a director I trusted.
00:13Getting to challenge like this was incredibly exciting.
00:17This movie dabbles in basically what boxers deal with post-career
00:20and kind of like movies, boxing is like the theater of the unexpected,
00:25so it's kind of where the movie goes.
00:27Six weeks of hardcore training, sometimes six days a week,
00:32for several hours a day, and hanging around the gym
00:35and trying to get into a completely different mindset
00:39from any with which I'm familiar.
00:42Honestly, I kind of like boxing, so I was in the gym with them a lot more
00:46before that, but not basically training to do anything.
00:50I haven't seen the movie, so I don't know what it looks like.
00:52Everybody else is telling me it looks great,
00:54so I'm going to see for myself.
00:57I play Bang Bang's grandson.
00:59I start training with Bang Bang, and it's messy and it's crazy,
01:04but we find a love for one another.
01:06I think I'm one of the younger ones in the cast.
01:08I really just got to listen and learn a lot, soak everything in.
01:11You know, with legends like Tim, it's really easy to just talk and listen.
01:16It was really a joy.
01:18In this film, I'm a cancer survivor, double mastectomy cancer survivor,
01:22who owns a bar, and myself and Bang Bang were high school sweethearts,
01:26and we reunite after so many years of being apart.
01:30It's a really powerful film because working with Tim was wonderful.
01:33We really found a connection, a rhythm, a support.
01:36We were really partners, and that felt really wonderful.
