00:00A human trafficking syndicate was busted in an operation by the Immigration Department

00:05in Kubankerian and Kotabaru on June 10.

00:09Immigration Director General Datuk Ruslan Juso on Saturday said they first raided a

00:14transit home for the syndicate.

00:16He said they arrested seven foreigners from Bangladesh, Thailand and India during the

00:21raid.

00:22This led to another raid after the authorities received information that illegal immigrants

00:26were being transported to the Lembah-Sireh Express Bus Terminal.

00:30Ruslan said checks around the terminal led to the arrests of 24 foreigners who the authorities

00:35believe were waiting for a bus to reach their destination.

00:39He said the syndicate is believed to have changed its modus operandi by recruiting motorcyclists

00:46to bring illegal immigrants from the transit home to the bus terminal.

00:50He said this could expedite the movement of the illegal immigrants out of Kelantan without

00:55a trace.

00:57Investigations revealed that the syndicate charged between 2000 ringgit and 3000 ringgit

01:02for each person to enter the country.
