00:07in the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court with child neglect.
00:10Zain's father, Zaim Iqwan Zahari, and mother, Ismah Nira Abdulmanaf, pleaded not guilty
00:17when the charge was read to them before Judge Shaliza Warno.
00:22The charge was framed under Section 31 Sub 1A of the Child Act 2001, read with Section
00:2834 of the Penal Code.
00:30If found guilty, Zain's parents could each face a fine not more than RM50,000 or imprisonment
00:36for up to 20 years or both.
00:38Zain was reported missing in Damansara Damai on December 5 last year.
00:43He was found dead the next day.
00:45The post-mortem revealed multiple injuries, including defensive wounds, while the cause
00:49of death was believed to be strangulation.
00:53The court has fixed July 26 for mention.
