Transcript
00:00China shows no signs of letting up on its stranglehold in the West Philippine Sea by
00:04might and aggression, and neither is the country easing in its defense of its rightful sovereignty
00:09and entitlements but by the ways of peace and the rule of law.
00:13Our Patrick de Jesus on increased presence of Chinese vessels in the West Philippine
00:17Sea and the country's defense chief reminding all Filipinos to stick to the program and
00:22resist all Chinese propaganda.
00:27Four Chinese ships came into view in the West Philippine Sea.
00:32From 125 on May 28 to June 3, it increased to 146 this week, with PLA Navy warships noticeably
00:41doubling in numbers.
00:43The Navy said the surge in Chinese ships was noted after the military drills of China in
00:49Sabina or Escoda Shoal last week.
00:52It was the first time the deployment of a hovercraft was observed.
00:57The Navy reiterated that any Chinese presence inside the Exclusive Economic Zone of the
01:03Philippines is illegal, which they continuously monitor.
01:07Their presence by itself is already escalatory.
01:12Whatever actions they do in furtherance of their illegal, coercive, aggressive and deceptive
01:18presence will only point out that they have no right to be within our Exclusive Economic
01:23Zone.
01:24Philippine Defense Secretary Gibaut Yodoro once again slammed the 10-dash line of China
01:29and called it provocation.
01:31He said that it is only a bait to stray the public away from the main issue in the West
01:37Philippine Sea.
01:38On the other hand, the AFP is exhausting all comprehensive measures in fortifying the defense
01:45capability of the country in accordance with the directive of the Commander-in-Chief to
01:51focus on external threats.
01:54In his visit to the 5th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army in Camp Melchor de
01:59la Cruz in Gamo, Isabela, the President reminded the soldiers to always be prepared.
02:16In line with this, the AFP is also monitoring illegal activities in which Chinese nationals
02:23are involved, the latest of which is the illegal Pogo or Scum Hub raided in Porak,
02:30Pampanga.
02:31As for the AFP, they cannot consider yet these discoveries as a national threat.
02:55The AFP will also help in the investigation on the Chinese military uniforms seen inside
03:15the Pogo Hub with PLA markings.
03:33The AFP added this may only be used as props given the scams and illegal activities this
03:40Pogo Hub is known for.
