00:00Amid growing tensions in the South China Sea, China's Coast Guard says it took measures to expel Philippine vessels from the Scarborough Shoal.
00:08According to them, its forces monitored and intercepted the vessels after warnings are ignored, before forcing them away in a lawful operation.
00:17The Philippine embassy in Beijing did not respond to requests for comment.
00:21On the same day, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said Beijing had misinterpreted his recent comments on Taiwan.
00:27He explained that Manila would likely be drawn into any China-Taiwan conflict because of its proximity to the island.
00:34China accused him of playing with fire after his remarks during a visit to India.
00:39Marcos said there was no way the Philippines could stay out of such a conflict.
