00:00Aaron, coming off the win against Ireland, what are your thoughts going up against Pakistan?
00:06I think it's a great win for Canada, historic win, and I think we just need to take it one
00:12ball at a time.
00:13As we see, wicket here is kind of tricky, so we need to just have a game plan and stick
00:20to it.
00:22What were the biggest changes you saw from the match against the US to Ireland that got
00:26you over the line?
00:28I think our feeling was very good, you know, a total team effort.
00:32I think we played positive cricket and we managed to get the highest score so far here
00:39in New York and even we got a very decent total in, I think, the second highest total.
00:43So we are looking to bat positively and just back it up in the field.
00:49Coming off the win, what's the mood in the camp now?
00:51I think the mood, everyone knows, you must have seen it on social media where guys are
00:56happy, guys are fancying their chances and definitely looking forward to playing against
01:03some of the big guns in the Pakistan team.
01:07What do you see as maybe the main areas of opportunity and some of the threats that Pakistan
01:14present?
01:15I think they are very skilled players, you know, most of these guys have been going around
01:20the world playing league cricket, not only international cricket, so their skills are
01:23there.
01:24But if you are looking for opportunity, you have to relish these moments.
01:29So I believe that the fact that the wicket is playing some tricks, level the playing
01:34field for us and we are looking to use that to our advantage.
01:38You mentioned levelling the playing field and using the pitch to your advantage.
01:43How comfortable do you feel in these conditions and with this dropping wicket?
01:47Again, you know, I think it's the first time personally I'm playing on dropping wickets
01:52We did have GT20 but also those were low scoring games.
01:57So definitely, you know, it's a challenge but as professionals I think we have to, as
02:03I say, you know, look forward to challenges and look for positive ways of overcoming them.
02:09And lastly, how are you feeling about your tournament so far and how much are you looking
02:13forward to this opportunity against Pakistan?
02:15Personally, I would love to be doing better, especially with the bat, but again, I think
02:20the team have targets, power play, and I've managed to help the team to accomplish those
02:25targets and we got one win.
02:27So if I'm looking at it from a selfish point of view, I'd want to do better.
02:31But as a team point of view, I think we are doing very well.
02:40How was that win?
02:42I mean, I'm sure it was such a milestone for Canadian cricket, but how important was
02:49that for the whole of Canadian cricket and North America?
02:54Again, as I say, it's a very big win for us.
02:56It's a historic win.
02:57It's our first T20 win against a test playing nation and this just shows that Canada has
03:03a lot to offer to the world of cricket.
03:08I'm pretty sure this will drive a lot of investment in Canadian cricket to show that we are here
03:13to compete.
03:14We are not here just to be a part of the tournament.
03:19And moving forward, we got ODI status earlier and we qualified to play here in the World
03:25Cup.
03:26So I think it's massive and for us as a group, it drives a sense of belief within the group.
03:33So I think we have to just take it in stride and keep moving forward.
