The second-largest island in the Channel Islands, Guernsey is rich in culture and heritage boasting beautiful nature and delicious cuisine. 00:06Located in the English Channel, this beautiful island is rich in culture and heritage,

00:12boasting beautiful nature and delicious cuisine.

00:16Guernsey, along with Jersey, Alderney and Sark, was occupied by the Nazis during World War II.

00:23The island is steeped in history from this period, with hundreds of bunkers and several unique museums.

00:30On May 9th, Guernsey celebrated 79 years since being liberated from the Nazis,

00:36with the island gearing up for a large 80-year anniversary celebration next year.

00:41No trip to Guernsey is complete without taking a rib boat tour.

00:46Enjoy the wind in your face as you explore bays, caves and islands,

00:51and see local wildlife on the way.

00:53For war history fans, there are a number of bespoke museums to visit,

00:58including the German Occupation Museum and the German Underground Hospital.

01:03We also visited Battery Mirrors, the largest gun emplacement site in Guernsey.

01:09Other must-see sites on the island include the Little Chapel,

01:12which is decorated with pebbles and broken china. Picture perfect!

01:18And if you're lucky enough on your travels, you might even get the chance to see some Guernsey cows.
