00:00 Marching orders of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his plans for his new position in the PCSO,
00:07 let's find out together with the newly appointed board member of the Philippine Charities District's Office, Ms. Imelda Papin.
00:14 Good afternoon and welcome to the new Philippines, ma'am.
00:17 Good morning, Asekweng.
00:22 To all of those listening and seeing our beauties,
00:27 good afternoon to you on PDV4.
00:30 Ma'am, first of all, congratulations.
00:32 What can you say about the appointment of President Marcos Jr.
00:37 as the new member of the board of directors of the Philippine Charities District's Office?
00:42 I am really happy and I am very happy, Asek,
00:47 because of course, there are many who want to be directors and help our people.
00:53 But I was chosen and selected by President Bongbong Marcos to be the director of the PCSO.
01:05 That's why I am the one who is thankful to our President.
01:07 I am thankful for his trust and I will do everything I can to have unity and help us.
01:16 We are five directors in the PCSO,
01:19 including the chairman, general manager, and other two directors.
01:24 That's why we are very happy.
01:27 Of course, our priority is to lower the number of patients who need help,
01:37 especially those who are hospitalized.
01:40 Ma'am Imelda, congratulations again to the DA's colonel.
01:45 What will be your role?
01:46 Thank you, Asek Arnel.
01:48 Good afternoon.
01:50 What will be your role and the marching orders of President Marcos Jr. as the new member of the PCSO?
01:58 You know, I will learn and study the process and the process of the PCSO this coming Monday.
02:07 I will be starting my work this Monday officially.
02:11 We have a lot of good news that we will let you know.
02:17 Of course, I want to give you some attention and I want to announce now,
02:25 although I already announced it after the oath-taking bill,
02:29 I want to let the board approve this one-week service.
02:38 I also mentioned this to our President after our oath-taking.
02:44 He was very happy and said, "That's good. Let's do this one-week service."
02:54 Ma'am, from your background and your ability as a public servant,
02:59 what do you think is the way to expand the scope and reach of the assistance of the PCSO to our fellow countrymen?
03:08 That's right. That's why this one-week service is a way to expand the assistance to our fellow countrymen who need medical assistance.
03:24 What I mean to say is, since our work is from Monday to Friday, we will add Saturday to Sunday.
03:37 That's what we will do.
03:39 So, it's like we will not sleep.
03:44 We will really do our work.
03:47 We will see to it that we will be going around the Philippines.
03:50 We will really know.
03:53 Maybe, I will be able to help a lot because, of course, I've been serving my province mates for the past nine years.
04:05 More or less, I know who should be the focus of our service, especially the PCSO.
04:15 We know that this is a way to help our fellow countrymen, especially those who are hospitalized.
04:24 It's all about medical assistance.
04:28 We will see to it all health-related programs. We will see to it that we have to act fast and reach out to as many recipients as possible.
04:40 We will see to it that in the PCSO, the five of us directors will work together to create a direction for the PCSO mandate to our fellow countrymen.
04:55 We want to show everyone that our President really wants to embrace everyone in his heart,
05:05 especially those who are in need of help, especially those who are sick.
05:11 Ma'am, in what way do you think the PCSO Central Office and your fellow countrymen can improve the connectivity and communication
05:22 to speed up the acceptance and giving of requests for assistance?
05:27 Of course, we will follow up on the medical assistance requests.
05:43 There are requirements that we should follow and we will see to it that if we can act fast, within 24 hours, we will try to do it.
05:56 At least after a few hours after receiving the requests, you should be approved immediately.
06:03 All over the country, all branches all over, we should implement and synchronize all over our branches all over the Philippines
06:19 so that we can be happier and avoid waiting for a long time, especially on Saturday and Sunday.
06:27 It is really hard for our countrymen because you have to add another two days waiting for another two days.
06:33 For example, the PCSO will help them. For them to spend another two days in the hospital is a bit heavy for them.
06:42 We will see to it. We will really pay attention to the problems that we see and our countrymen are facing.
06:51 Especially, I experienced that as the vice governor of Camarillo. So for the past nine years, we should pay attention to a lot of things
07:02 because we have to listen to them and their concerns.
07:07 We should not be the only ones to be followed.
07:09 We should listen and wait for their requests that the PCSO can help.
07:18 I think, I'm one of the directors who can feel the feelings of our President and I want to send my help to our countrymen.
07:35 So ma'am, as a part of the board of directors, what are your suggestions to the PCSO that can help to increase its annual revenue?
07:44 Because from the polls, we know that a lot of people are asking for help from the PCSO and even from the satellite offices in the hospitals.
07:53 I would probably, this is just my opinion, maybe it's just my opinion, but we should encourage our countrymen.
08:11 Because to me, when you are gambling, you are doing a charity work.
08:18 This is not gambling in my opinion because there is a return for helping your countrymen.
08:26 So I would encourage everybody to help each other.
08:32 What we are betting on is that the one who is right is the one who is doing it.
08:38 We should understand that.
08:41 Especially the sick people who are in hospitals, who are based in the hospitals all over the Philippines.
08:48 You know, this is being funded by PCSO.
08:52 We should understand that the help from this is from the PCSO, from all of you who are willing to go there
09:04 and will also go back to those who are sick and need medical assistance, medical mission.
09:11 That's why we'll be doing that all over the Philippines.
09:14 We will be doing caravans.
09:16 So many things that we have to do.
09:18 Our concentration should be on health because health is wealth.
09:24 We'll make it the fastest and simplest manner as possible.
09:31 That's why we are here, our five board of directors headed by our chairman, general manager and two more directors.
09:41 We are very much willing to offer our time and to listen.
09:49 Of course, we will go around.
09:51 It will be a bit difficult to go around but it's okay for us.
09:58 We will find a way because this is a mandate of PCSO.
10:04 And of course, we'd like to promote the good heart of our dear beloved president, Bongbong Marcos.
10:12 Thank you very much for your time, Board of Director Imelda Papin of PCSO.
