00:00 Israel continues strikes across Gaza as the International Court of Justice orders an end
00:06 to the military operation in Rafa.
00:10 Poland`s foreign minister accused Russia of plotting to destabilize Europe ahead of the
00:15 European elections.
00:22 Fighting continues across Gaza as Israel continues its offensive against Hamas despite a ruling
00:27 from the International Court of Justice that its military operation in Rafa must stop.
00:34 The UN top court also ruled that the Rafa border crossing must be reopened for aid deliveries.
00:40 But ICJ judges stopped short of ordering a full ceasefire throughout Gaza.
00:45 The ruling was welcomed by Palestine`s ambassador to the UN.
00:52 But displaced Palestinians in Gaza expressed frustration with the ruling because of its
00:56 focus on Rafa.
00:58 More than 900,000 Palestinians have been displaced from the city in the last two weeks with many
01:03 having no access to food, water or shelter.
01:07 Meanwhile, the Hamas` own health ministry says the death toll in Gaza now stands at
01:11 at least 35,000, but the ministry doesn`t distinguish between combatants and civilians.
01:21 Poland`s foreign minister Radoslaw Sikorski has accused Russia of plotting to destabilize
01:26 the situation in Europe ahead of the upcoming elections to the European Parliament.
01:32 (Radoslaw Sikorski, Polish Foreign Minister)
02:02 The news comes days after Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the reestablishment
02:06 of a commission to investigate undue Russian influence following the arrest of Russian
02:10 spies in Poland.
02:12 In the past, Poland said its position as a key distributor of supplies to Ukraine makes
02:16 it a target for Moscow`s spies.
02:20 U.S. lawmakers are trying to persuade Georgia`s government not to adopt the controversial Russian
02:26 law.
02:27 That law, which aimed to promote transparency of foreign influence, was recently passed
02:31 by the Georgian Parliament.
02:33 U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced a visa restriction policy against Georgian
02:39 officials following a controversial bill.
02:42 Meanwhile, demonstrations protesting the law are ongoing in Georgia`s capital, Tbilisi.
02:48 Citizens opposing the controversial law on transparency of foreign influence gathered
02:52 in various locations in the city and marched towards the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
02:58 This is part of a continuous protest that has been taking place on a daily basis for
03:02 over a month, ever since the law was reintroduced to the Georgian Parliament.
03:08 Acts threatening sanctions for Georgia`s democratic backslide and a revision of U.S.-Georgian
03:13 relations are also on the table.
03:16 In response to the ruling, Georgian Dream Party accused the U.S. of emotional blackmail.
03:23 "Hello, my name is Myriam, I am 47 years old, I am Belgian.
03:35 And the question that was asked to me, if I were MP, at the level of the European Union,
03:41 what would I do?
03:42 Well, I would give a little more purchasing power to the inhabitants of each member country,
03:48 because joining them should not diminish us, but make us a little stronger, and today
03:55 that is not the case.
03:56 So that's what I would do, give a little more purchasing power."
03:59 "I want the fiscal policy pursued in the European Union to be more liberal, to let
04:11 governments be bolder in making larger public investments.
04:18 Otherwise such countries as Latvia will remain in the backyard and will never achieve the
04:22 economic level of the old European democracies.
04:26 Also, I believe it's necessary to put a final stop to austerity policy, which pushed many
04:34 people, millions of Europeans all over the European continent to poverty and to economic
04:42 immigration.
04:43 Especially important, what I'm talking now is about Latvia, which lost about 15% of its
04:50 nationals during the economic crisis after the year 2009."
