00:00 Hello there, welcome to the final episode in the month of May when we're talking

00:05 about various forms of scrotal abnormality that may or may not result

00:10 in sexual dysfunction. And this week we're going to talk about accumulation

00:14 of fluid inside the testicle.

00:18 Exactly how does fluid get into the testicle? In fact there are two ways. One

00:27 form is called hydrosil. Imagine that the testicle is surrounded by fluid that

00:33 allows it to move and sometimes that fluid itself can get accumulated

00:37 actually from fluid directly from the abdomen or sometimes it can be secondary

00:43 hydrosil that is caused by infection or cancer of the testicle. The fluid itself

00:49 can cause enlargement. On the other hand there may be another fluid accumulation

00:54 caused by something called epididymosis. In fact nobody knows why

00:59 epididymosis occur but it's very common up to 10 to 20 percent of general

01:04 population. Epididymosis itself can accumulate around epididymis and can get

01:10 quite big and it's difficult to differentiate between epididymosis

01:14 and hydrosil. So does that cause sexual dysfunction? Well unless it becomes so

01:22 big that it is so uncomfortable, yes it might but overall it doesn't associate

01:29 with sexual dysfunction. And the operation itself is a simple operation

01:34 what we actually will correct the actual hydrosil or on the other hand excise the

01:43 epididymosis to make the testicle less dragging and less heavy and for the

01:49 patient to be less uncomfortable when they have sexual intercourse. So

01:54 indirectly the accumulation of fluid itself might create anxiety and makes

02:00 men worried about sexual activity but directly it is not associated with

02:05 sexual dysfunction and the relief of that fluid actually most of the time

02:10 makes men a little bit happier and less dragging effect in the scrotum causing

02:16 problems during intercourse. For the month of June we're going to devote the

02:22 whole month to pediatric problems and the first week we're going to talk about

02:27 undescended testicle. If your child suffers from undescended testicle or you

02:32 worry you yourself as an adult might actually have one testicle that's hiding
