00:00 I graduated from 2014 high school and originally wanted to study education, be an English teacher.
00:09 Unfortunately, towards the end of the first year of studying there, there were some things in my life that drew me off that path.
00:14 I fell into substance abuse and drug addiction. I spent the next number of years struggling with that.
00:21 Having tried to spare everything I could to break free of that, I found myself at a new low point
00:28 and I attempted to have my own life. I was fortunately saved by some amazing paramedic staff and some nurses.
00:36 After my time in rehab and the up-front studies, I decided to go on to live.
00:42 I want my mind to be drawn back to that I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for those paramedics today.
00:47 I'd like to go into that to help people in my same situation. I have foundations on my path to do that.
