Around 40 people from across the region gathered on Thursday, May 23, to recognise the symbiotic relationship between the Australian Defence Force and the Border region.

00:08We are a fundamental contributor to economic activity through spending in the local economy,
00:15recognising the positive economic impact and engaging local contractors and suppliers
00:20as to where there is capacity and where there is capability to do so within the local market.
00:28The US force posture is becoming greater within the key logistic capability output
00:33of the Joint Logistic Union of Victoria, under the command of Col. Claire Calloway and her team.
00:40And lastly, defence industry development.
00:43In my perspective, this is mainly in the higher education industry partnerships, some of whom
00:50sit in this room today delivering leading edge training technologies and training transformation
00:57capabilities required to generate and sustain the future force across technical trades
01:04and across logistics and health roles.
