Climber Found Dead at Denali National Park, North America's Highest Peak

A climber was found dead at Denali National Park in Alaska after falling from the highest peak in North America. The climber's family contacted officials after not hearing from them for several days via their InReach communication device. Rangers located the empty tent above 17,000 feet and determined the last sighting was two days prior at approximately 18,000 feet. Satellite data indicated that the InReach device had not moved since May 16th and rangers later confirmed the climber's death using a spotting scope to locate the probable fall area. Recovery efforts will be attempted when the weather allows, and identity will be released after notifying the family.
