00:20President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. was the first to end the division of land titles
00:25between farmers in Eastern Visayas.
00:27It happened in Tacloban City Convention Center where more than 5,000 beneficiaries gathered.
00:34Here, President Marcos assured that agrarian beneficiaries will receive land titles.
00:40That is why I am hoping that within my term,
00:46all beneficiaries of agrarian reform will receive the title of their own land.
00:55We will end this in the next four years.
01:00We all know that you have been waiting for a long time for the land of agriculture
01:06assured by this administration
01:09to fulfill our promise of agrarian reform throughout the country.
01:14In fact, this year, the Department of Agrarian Reform
01:22has approved more than 15,000 hectares of land for more than 6,000 beneficiaries across the country.
01:30We are hoping that it will be completed
01:36and that more than 23,000 hectares of land will be given before the end of this year.
01:44President Marcos has approved the Department of Agrarian Reform for the SPLIT project.
01:49This is the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling Project.
01:53Its purpose is to encourage farmers to farm their own land.
01:57The dream is to be able to do business in the land that is being farmed
02:01to encourage the livelihood of your families and to help our economy.
02:08All the land and services that you will receive now
02:12will be the foundation where we will build a more prosperous new Philippines.
02:20After a few decades, the Eastern Visayas were able to use the title of their farms,
02:26titles that they have been waiting for a long time, but now they have been given.
02:32Along with the beneficiaries, Juanito, 84 years old, and Fedhil, 70 years old,
02:37were given the title of land.
02:39The two senior citizens have been waiting for decades for the title of land.
02:43Thank you very much. Thank you very much.
02:49Thank you very much. Thank you very much.
02:53Thank you very, very much, sir.
02:56The children will not be able to follow.
02:59He said, sir, in the case, the children will not be able to follow.
03:03When he is gone, he will just give it to his children.
03:08Not only in the area of land, the agrarian reform will end.
03:11This includes the provision of support and extension services to the beneficiaries,
03:16such as the construction of farm-to-market roads and bridges called PBBM bridges,
03:22or agrarian bridges for the new township of Magasaka.
03:26More than P70 million was also allocated for the irrigation project to fight El Niño.
03:32More than 200 machinery and equipment for the Magasaka are also available.
03:36President Marco Sadar has also ordered to assist the DSWD and DOLE
03:41to provide additional assistance to the Magasaka.
03:45These are not only to improve your income,
03:49but also to improve the quality of your life,
03:54your security of food in the country.
03:59Because of this, I would like to send my heartfelt support to your efforts.
04:07You are the true heroes in our land,
04:11enriched by your sweat and love.
04:15We only ask that you take care of your wealth,
04:20what you have given to you now.
04:23The executive board also acknowledged the contribution of his father,
04:26former President Ferdinand E. Marco Sr., in the sector of agrarian reform.
04:31Because the start of the agrarian reform program
04:36was one of the first things my father did when he became president.
04:45And his companion, Secretary Conrado Estrella,
04:51is the grandfather of Secretary Conrado Estrella.
04:55That's why I said, when we became president,
05:02and I made him a secretary right away,
05:05because I said, it's embarrassing.
05:08He's been waiting for more than 30 years.
05:12President Marcos also emphasized that rehabilitation in Maharlika Highway
05:16is one of the priorities of his administration.
05:18Well, it's always part of our continuing plan for the rehabilitation of what's happened.
05:27Because even up to now, some of the governors, I was talking to them,
05:32some of the other officials,
05:34we still haven't fully recovered.
05:36We still haven't fully recovered in Yolanda.
05:42So, all those rehabilitations, we only really started two years ago.
05:50Because nothing was done in the previous administration.
05:54Nothing was done in the administration before that.
05:57Before he became president, President Marcos first came to Dumaguete City,
06:01where he was the first to provide land titles and support services.
06:05I am very happy that you are all here in Dumaguete
06:10to start a new era in the lives of our farmers.
06:19Today, we celebrate the success of our country and our farmers
06:26by distributing more than 3,800 Certificates of Land Ownership Award,
06:35or the so-called CLOA,
06:37and land titles for farmers in almost 3,000 hectares of land here in Region 7.
06:46I am very thankful that we were able to get our land titles when President Marcos came.
06:53We are very happy that we were able to get our land titles.
06:57I am very thankful that President Marcos came to help us.
