The two suspects who attempted to trespass into Istana Negara on May 17 have pleaded guilty in a Kuala Lumpur court. However, one of them pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of weapon.

00:00 Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Ruzdi Mohamad Issa on Monday said the two
00:07 suspects who attempted to trespass into Istana Negara had pleaded guilty.
00:13 He said the two were charged under Section 447 and Section 511 of the Penal Code and
00:19 they had made the guilty plea in court.
00:22 He said one of the accused was also charged under Section 6, Subsection 1 of the Corrosive
00:27 and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act.
00:31 However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
00:35 Police said they stopped two men who had tried to enter the palace compound on Jalan Sultan
00:41 Abdul Halim via Gate 3 around 4.40pm on May 17.
00:47 The two had said that they wished to meet His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia,
00:52 but further checks on their vehicle led to the discovery of a machete.
